Person on public transport was playing music on phone at full blast. Then looked up and started loudly yelling at passengers. Luckily got off after a few stops. Iโ€™m used to occasionally seeing this kind of thing, but today I wondered, does the mentally ill person know they are mentally ill? Are they aware they are frightening others, including kids. What are they feeling when they do these things? I guess whatever is in their heads is logical. I hope to never experience it.

From my observations itโ€™s the same or worse everywhere else. At least we can vote people out without violent riots.

There is a new resident in the neighbourhood. Itโ€™s a bird. It goes chirp chirp chirp, chirp chirp chirp, chirp chirp chirp, pause. Then repeat. For 20min, staring at 5:30am. I normally like nature but this is testing my tolerance.

All of the above! Plus snacks are tasty, itโ€™s a reason to have a break, and can focus better if not feeling hungry. Might try having a smaller lunch and healthy snacks, which might balance it out rather than trying to eliminate the snacks.

After dinner no problem. Itโ€™s the mid afternoon snacks that are my downfall.

Rat control (aussie.zone)
submitted 7 months ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

This year I grew tomatoes, and found rats are stealing them. I am certain itโ€™s rats because I have seen them. Have tried netting the tomato plants, but rats found ways in. Called an exterminator to bait in the roof and under house. Feel ambivalent about it, because if a predator bird takes an affected rat it may get ill. But Iโ€™m located deep in suburbia and have never seen an owl or eagle so I think itโ€™s unlikely. Didnโ€™t work though, still have rats. Have given up on the tomatoes, plants are destroyed. What are your strategies for ridding yourself of ratty pestilences?

Was this meant to be a get-off-my-turf micro aggression that could later be denied if needed by saying it was an accident? But also, if the sonar can injure people, what does it to to whales or fish?

The constitution has special legal status in Australia. Parliament cannot alter it the way they can normal laws. The constitution can only be changed by a referendum - which is vote by the whole nation. What parliament is allowed to do (not Albo individually, but by majority vote in parliament), is make laws under the constitution. So yes, parliament could pass a law that creates a voice. But the next government could then pass a law that cancels the voice. And so on. The idea of putting in the constitution was so that it would have more staying power. If it was in the constitution it could still be removed, but only by another referendum, because as per point A, constitution can only be changed by a referendum.

Looking for inspiration. Which Australian food sites, bloggers, youtube, social media do you frequent? The places you go for ideas and recipes. I love Nagi (recipe tin eats), and occasionally browse Taste and SBS food. What are some others to look at?

โ€˜Peel hereโ€™ is the biggest scam in the food products industry. Why do they troll us so.
