Many centrist Democrats see criticism of any Democrat and immediately snap to "how can I dismiss this person without addressing what they're saying?"
This one has chosen "you must be part of an international conspiracy." Other classics include "I will state without evidence that you are younger than me and are therefore wrong" and "Your criticism from the left means you are all the way to my right."
Centrists are happy to jettison any policy except support for genocide, and they don't want to examine why that is too closely, so they become hostile instead.
