Hey, so i just fucking quit my new job rn. I got offered something better last minute but didn’t wanna be a dick and cancel on them at the last minute, so I went through with it anyways and then QUIT RIGHT AFTER THEY HIRED ME LMFAO. It felt so good man, total payback for all those times I wasted my time interviewing only to never get the gig.

Sounds like a burned bridge. Be careful if you burn too many you'll be stuck alone on an island

This is sound advice. I'm under no illusion that you owe any company any "loyalty," but a little bit of professionalism goes a long way. People talk, and many industries are much, much smaller than they seem.

Yeah I work in a very small industry and something like that would definitely get around.

But it might not matter if OP's career field is big enough or if the demand for OP's position is high.

My mom is a nurse and seems to have the freedom to do stuff like this due to the demand lol.

Love it when metaphors paint a picture that matches up to multiple facets of reality.

I'm so sad op didn't say something like "what if i start my own business" because I was gonna something like "that's you building a boat but with a bad professional reputation, you're up a creek with no paddle"

Nah fuck these employers … I like what this guy did.
