Wasn't Tennessee allegedly paying players stacks of cash in McDonalds bags pre-NIL? Is this purposefully tongue-in-cheek? (If so, I'm lovin' it)
In all seriousness, NIL -- and generally ads that target CFB fans -- is out of control. Advertisers are just making a cash grab out of people's positive feelings towards their team/school. I'm cool with jersey sales, autographs, monetized YouTube channels, whatever actually goes directly to the players. But because paying players cash directly is still illegal, huge sums of money have to go through corpos and I hate that.
Supposedly it was actually chic fil a, which is much classier. Pruitt's downfall was handing out said bags on a Sunday
