What's the logic with bonjella?

According to TGA it can be toxic if used to often. I find it curious they've come to this conclusion after 40 years of this product being on shelf?

And by that logic nearly everything is toxic in excess. Are we going to sell everything behind the counter now?

Remember Gentian Violet? We used to put that in our mouths then one day in the 90s it's ripped off the shelf because it's found to cause cancer. Oh great.

OMG that takes me back. It was my mum’s favourite remedy for everything. I was pretty much constantly covered in purple stripes as a kid, much to my embarrassment 😂

I remember ravers using it when they'd chewed out the inside of their cheeks while gurning on those strong late 90s pingas.

Because it's got a chemical in it that when it gets overused can cause hospitalisation. So they recategorised it now and it'll only be available at the chemist.

Maybe kids were eating it. I used to like the taste.

Haha. I'm quite partial to the tingly aniseedy taste myself.
