When I have this discussion with any Danes, basically every time they call me pretty much insane for saying that I will always choose Lidl over Netto. Supermarkets in Denmark in general are quite bad, with little choice, poor quality, products not in stock, but I generally think the foreign ones like Lidl or Rema 1000 have a better standards and a little more interesting range of products. So what is yours?

PS: I wish we had ICA here

Spar is really underrated.

Because their prices are fucking insane.

38kr for a frozen pizza?

That costs 18-23 in other stores as normal price?...

Spar is criminally insane with their prices my guy.

And it's not just frozen pizza. But nearly anything frozen.

Spring rolls. 9-11 kr extra compared to most stores. Bread. 5-10kr more expensive. Even something as simple as an ice bag costs twice what it does In netto and it has less weight.

P

Frozen pizza has increased a lot in price at Netto and Coop 365 as well due to the war inflation.

It's still nowhere near spar. Coop has them for 18-23kr. That's still atleast 10kr less.

25 or 26 for store brand or about 40 kroner for Dr. Oetger.

Mine has had økologisk pizzas for 22-23 for the past 6 months.

Spar has theirs at 31.

Dr.oetker is a different story.

Spar is focused on the local aspects of the stores. Often it is the only store in the village and therefore a lot of locations take a big local responsibility. Many local residents pay those more expensive prices to make sure that the village has a store. For at lot of villages their survival depends on having a store and a school.

I have yet to see a town where the only store is spar. On pretty much all of fyn there are other stores in the same town.

They are great with buy two items deals. Usually well stocked, and really good staff that are friendly. They have some really good everyday prices on many products as well.

I feel the opposite, the local one is expensive and has a pretty narrow selection.
