When I have this discussion with any Danes, basically every time they call me pretty much insane for saying that I will always choose Lidl over Netto. Supermarkets in Denmark in general are quite bad, with little choice, poor quality, products not in stock, but I generally think the foreign ones like Lidl or Rema 1000 have a better standards and a little more interesting range of products. So what is yours?

PS: I wish we had ICA here

Spar is focused on the local aspects of the stores. Often it is the only store in the village and therefore a lot of locations take a big local responsibility. Many local residents pay those more expensive prices to make sure that the village has a store. For at lot of villages their survival depends on having a store and a school.

I have yet to see a town where the only store is spar. On pretty much all of fyn there are other stores in the same town.
