The cis normativity I'm talking about actually comes from within the trans community. Because we've been gatekept for so fucking long. It used to be not very long ago you had to present for a year as the opposite gender to birth to be even considered trans by a fucking psychologist. People in the UK have to wait 5 years and jump through similar hoops. I'm legitimately part of very new generation of trans people who have had positive experiences in dealing with health care providers. There's a lot of us, but the old cis norms fucking resent the shit out of us.
