This weekend I'll be working to upgrade AZ to lemmy 0.19.4, which requires changes to some other back end supporting systems.

Expect occasional errors/slowdowns, broken images etc.

Once complete, I'll be making further changes to enable/tweak some of the new features.

UPDATE: one of the back end component upgrades requires dumping and reimporting the entire lemmy database. This will require ~1 hour of total downtime for the site. I expect this to kick off tonight ~9pm Perth time.

UPDATE2: DB dump/re-import going to happen ~6pm Perth time, ie about 10 minutes from this edit.

UPDATGE3: we're back after the postgres upgrade. Next will be a brief outage for the lemmy upgrade itself... after I've had dinner πŸ™‚

UPDATE34: We're on lemmy 0.19.4 now. I'll be looking at new features/settings and playing around with them.

Just a heads up that all comments show as 0 karma for me. I use connect on android. Not sure if client or widespread.

0.19.4 introduced some changes to the way votes are displayed, they seem to be working fine for me on the web ui. I don't know if connect has been updated for 0.19.4 or lets you change account settings, but if you go to aussie.zone/settings (when logged in) there is a "Show Scores" setting which was off by default for me.

Logged in and it was set to default off for me too. Likely an oversight with the new update.

Thanks for the tip.

Nope, still all showing as 0. It seems like its not every post though. So perhaps its a federation issue and will catch up. I note most avatars are also notnloading but I had assumed it was an image cache issue as per other comments on the update. Still could be client. I'll double check at home later.

Probably the client: From the release notes:

Vote display user setting

There is now a user setting to change the way vote counts are displayed, called vote display mode.

You can specify which of the following vote data you’d like to see (or hide): Upvotes, Downvotes, Score, Upvote Percentage, or none of the above. The default (based on user feedback) is showing the upvotes + downvotes.

App developers will need to update their apps to support this setting.

I just checked local feed. No issues there. I've seen other user reports of issues with similar on Lemmy.world. So it could be those communities showing the issue for me or it could be a federation issue causing the glitch. Time will tell. But the fact that ssome work and some don't and all good for you makes me think its not the client.

lemmy.world is still on 0.19.3 so there might be an incompatibility there

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Yes, but its odd that it shows for me and not others.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Just installed connect and gave it a go, it seems to be showing the scores for me.

What app are you using? I've tested Boost, Sync, Jerboa, Memmy, Voyager and Connect. I can't reproduce this symptom.

Ya, not seeing this behavior in Connect on Android. Maybe sign out and sign back in again?

Tried on thunder on iPad. Seems to be less prevalent, but still seeing some posts with 0 for all comments. Tried a log out and in.

Not a big deal, still have full access and it seems to be improving, so might just be data refreshing or being re fetched.

It has been happening for me also since the update on voyager.

I’m personally only seeing this issue with lemmy.world posts, and it’s happening to me on both Arctic (I think it’s iOS only?) and aussie.zone’s web page.
