The parody was done using the same computer-generated imagery program used to create the Money For Nothing video. It was the most expensive part of the movie.

Also, Dire Straits allowed the song parody on the condition that Mark Knopfler perform the guitar and Guy Fletcher perform the synthesizer. Which is why it sounds almost exactly like the original song and why the intro in particular feels so authentic.
