How fucking big did this dudes arms get in one year? I’m calling bullshit.
If this is actually real I would suggest using interpersonal relationship skills and ask these hordes of women to stop touching your biceps yourself. Given that anon is a green texter, he may be lacking in this department.
Lol I'm not saying this is definitely real, but it's completely plausible that an otherwise socially competent person freezes up when someone grabs them wantonly and unwantedly. And I fully believe that someone who would do that in the first place would also not stop when they're told no.
You're both skipping over consent; if the genders were reversed, would you consider it normal for men to touch women however they want until they're told to stop?
I responded to the person above me implying that OP should end the grabbing with interpersonal skills alone. Obviously no one should be grabbed without consent in the first place.
Paraphrasing the person you responded to: "Don't talk to HR/sue, use your interpersonal skills to stop the problem" You: "Could be that anon is too socially inept to say something"
Your response makes sense in context, all I'm saying is keep your eye on the ball; the actual problem here is consent and so if these hypothetical women are breaking it they should feel the consequences like men would.
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure
Pretty victim blamey, NGL. Norms should be in place to ask for consent (tacit or explicit) before touching someone else
Yes and we should also require chaperones on dates as well. No sex out of wedlock either.
Dude got his bicep grabbed and went to HR instead of telling the person. This is beyond stupid.
Should a woman "just tell everyone she doesn't like it" if random people start grabbing her?
First of all, unless this dude works at a strip club, I very highly doubt random coworkers are coming up and grabbing his biceps.
I would buy this story more if it was a single female who continued to do this, but this just doesn’t add up.
Secondly, if a woman’s biceps were being grabbed by a man, I’d have no idea what the fuck was going on.
This story is fake as shit and ya’ll are treating it like it’s a case study.
No, we just treat it at face value, knowing little of the real situation.
And reality is, men ARE abused and harrassed by women, and it's much harder for them to speak out about it. Which makes it even more important not to distrust these stories straight from the start - they get their dose of distrust and victimblaming everywhere else.
Okay buddy. Time to go have your afternoon tea and have a nap.
That's not an actual reply to the point they made. I know it feels good to call someone a child but it's more effective to actually address the discussion.
Is this his mom now replying to me?
I speak to people on the level they've shown they should be spoken to, if that's kindergarten so be it.
I’m glad you’re able to communicate with your peers
It's nice, you should try it.
I don’t know any kindergarteners
No you misunderstand but that's ok.
I was saying you have to speak to people on their level. Sometimes you need to say things in a different way, you might have to rephrase it for a different audience or even "dumb it down" for some of the simpler people on the internet.
Like I'm doing now.
Didn’t realize I was speaking to a god
You're assuming that they didn't tell that person to not touch them. They didn't mention it, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
There's not enough information from the OP to have reasonable knowledge of the events to say either way.
You used a lot of words to say absolutely nothing.
It is on 4chan, so there's an approximately 99% chance it's completely made up, and the poster can barely lift his keyboard.
Idk they do have all the /fit/ rogan bros and no social skills meaning nothing but time for gains, sigma alphas and whatnot. Could be tbh.
50/50 chance between normal keyboard and no arm muscles whatsoever and normal arm muscles and the thickest, full metal mechanical keyboard you've ever seen.
It's wild how we all forgot ON DAY ONE what the whole point of 4chan was, which was that since there is no barrier to entry, no identity, then you as the viewer are supposed to wonder what's real or not, but always have to assume anything said is false, even if it's tantalizing. It's a game, you're not supposed to take anything seriously there... and yet the place has impacted international politics repeatedly.
Discuss as if real, react as if fake
This really depends. I have seen people go from meh muscle build to pretty damn jacked after a year of hard work, and as much gear as they could find.
The story says more about the offenders than OP's actual body. That question has "but what was she wearing" vibes.
Yeah, I wasn't commenting on any of that. Regardless how dude looks, assuming it's real, consent is absolute. Just pointing out that I have seen people get jacked in a year, if the right risks are taken and the hard work is put in.
If you do it during puberty, there aren't even much in the way of risks. I went from 4'1" tall and 230 lbs, to 5'6" tall and 145 lbs in one year by joining the swim team. Never got jacked, but I can still bench 200 lbs without any real effort or training in my 40s.
Yeah, my growth spurt was painful.
I'm sure it's somewhat genetically based (according to 23andme I have 'elite athletic musculature') but I'm close to maxed out after a year of serious natty weight lifting if my goal is to actually look fit. I could get further and go the power lifter route by eating 5 rotisseries chickens daily and washing them down with bean juice.
Oh yeah, agree, genetics does play a significant part. Just commenting that I have seen people go from a normal build to pretty built in that time if the right risks are taken.
My one average coworker got a good routine going between Christmas and Easter and by the time I ran into him in the summer he was a shithouse
Shithouse? Meaning he let himself go and got fat & flabby again?
No as in the phrase "built like a brick shithouse", implying very structurally strong, overbuilt for it's purpose.
