@Seagoon_
Woke at 05:57 & whacked on the clock-radio to catch the start of PK on RN. Then remembered it's Monday, so it'll be SS. But, say what, instead it's FK! Whoa. I am so pleased. I've been trying for years, & there's just been continuous failures, but finally i've succeeded. My Time-Machine works, yay! ๐

i have no idea what any of that means
@Seagoon_ @msdropbear42 I think she's saying she woke up this morning and listened to Radio National. PK is Patricia Karvelas, FK is Fran Kelly, and...
I don't listen to Radio National so I have no clue who SS is?
@ajsadauskas @Seagoon_ Sally Sara.
Well done; some fine Babelfishing there!
You don't need to @ people unless explicitly trying to get their attention in a daily thread. And hashtags don't work that way on lemmy.
I think the @ happens by default with some apps when replying to a thread, even if it's a first-level comment. The thread poster always gets mentioned. I've seen several users (often from other federations) start their comments that way. @Nath might have more insight?
@Taleya Thanks for your sage advice. Should it ever happen that one day i decide to create a Lemmy account & begin using it, i hope that i remember this tip.
In the meantime, from my #Friendica & #Mastodon accounts, my OP & this reply now both coming from the former, @'s & #'s do work that way. The #Fediverse is far wider than only Lemmy.
