unfortunately i know too many trans people that don't feel like fighting and just give into it bc it's easier to "seem normal" than it is to stand up for themselves. it sucks! (i've struggled in that way before too.)
if you're talking to a transfem, yeah probably. i wouldn't do it to an AFAB person and I also wouldn't do it to a lot of nonbinary people.
it's abuse because there are clear racial undertones to her treatment of her husband. calling your husband brainwashed bc he doesn't agree with what you think about the country he's actually from is really weird. like who is this lady? she's demanding "academic sources" that aren't from China but i doubt she's sourcing her claims from anywhere that fits those standards.
liberals are absolutely useless though. it doesn't matter if they're more "politically engaged" under a Republican because all they end up doing is hijacking and co-opting our movements. Both parties are just picking different sets of marginalized people to attack so they can keep the money flowing into the bourgeoisie's pockets so I don't see any harm reduction happening anywhere.

What's up with liberals knee jerk urge to avoid absorbing contradictory/ conflicting information?
liberals tend to view politics through the lens of personal morality. you're a good person if you support democrats. the inverse of that is if the democrat in office is bad, they view that as their own personal failing for "picking wrong" so it causes cognitive dissonance that causes them to keep doubling down.
one sad thing about this is it would probably even be good for her mental health if she left too bc she often doesn't seem like she's doing very well when she's involved in all this drama.
technically he said that horrible stuff about trans people who don't like him or his takes so they're okay with it because they think he thinks they're "the good ones" even though he would probably throw them all under the bus to make some extra superchat bucks if he had to.

I personally have met transphobes that will make this argument so they don't have to out themselves as transphobic in groups that might not accept them going mask off about it. I'm not saying you're doing it, but it feels kinda similar to when transphobes go out of their way to use they/them pronouns for people when they're talking to someone who is very obviously presenting in specific gendered ways. are they and them generally gender neutral? yeah, obviously but there's certain contexts where it's totally not the best way to talk to/about people.
