I love how liberals did such a 180 on immigration once Biden was the figurehead overseeing it, instead of Trump "What? It's not 2018, we are not pretending to care about asylum seekers anymore." or "What, no the border wall was fascist when Trump was building it, now that Biden is building it, it is good and liberal. We need to keep our borders safe. We are not loony leftists that just want open borders and anarchy."

Man they really don't have any imagination. My mind immediately went to a Trump campaign doormat with Joe Biden on it saying "I let everyone walk all over me" and bottom text "tell the immigrants they should come in". I really should start trying to grift MAGA CHUDs.

Yay, man-made horrors, but mostly within my comprehension.

spoilerDidn't know Gibraltar had so much oil. Started in the Gulf. I am always confused as to what the basis of non-state territories included in this are.

With healthcare, it is usually more along the lines that our drug and healthcare prices are high because they need to be high to recoup research and development costs. The other countries get drugs cheaper because their regulations and price controls means that they aren't paying R&D costs and are just having prices high enough above per unit production costs to still be worth selling the drugs in that country versus not. So the US prices get even higher since only in the US markets could they sell the drugs for enough money to offset these high upfront costs of actually developing the drugs or techniques.

It is bullshit, and even if it were true, there would be better, more sane ways of doing the development than for profit. But that is usually the argument about how the US drastically outspends more per capita than any other nation on healthcare.

Under Hexbear communism, there is constant shortages of posts and everyone has to wait in the post lines for their rations.

reasoningLooked to be post-soviet/Eastern Bloc (advanced manufacturing and resource extraction). Started further south because of the palm oil.

I told the WOKE barista my name was "Trump MAGA 2024" and she/her/they didn't say that when my drink was ready. I am not going to that Starbucks again and go to the Starbucks several blocks over.

The question is "If up is down and short is long, what is purple?"
the choices are:
a: red, short wavelengths become long
b: indeterminate, up and down being equivalent means at least one spatial dimension has disappeared, compressing mater into disks that will collapse into black holes and also changes electrodynamics
c: logical contradiction, the universe ceases to exist and there is no purple
d: just wait for the drugs to wear off.

I think d has to be a trick answer, since it is too obvious. But I don't remember the lectures covering logical non-existence or 2D universes.

Film Idea (hexbear.net)

I just thought of a faux-Soviet film, like Comrade Detective. But it is a vampire film about supernatural, immortal capitalist Landleeches. You could keep all of the vampire fighting and supernatural tropes but with Bible == Capital Vol. 1, Crucifix == hammer and sickle, garlic == corn corn-man-khrush

And instead of the more esoteric, like not being able to cross moving water, or enter a house without permission, they have to abide by all of the pre-socialist housing and tenet regulations of that SR. Since Vampires used to represent feudal lords, I think this could be very naturally adopted.

Riley and November discuss a book about immigrants/de facto stateless people fleeing Nazis, and discussing immigration. Some parts really hit hard.

I was giving myself communion, the last major act of Jesus before praying and being betrayed by Judas. I thought that on Good Friday this was a good symbolic parallel since I, as the One True Leftist of Hexbear, was betrayed by all you libs. But then I realized that giving myself communion and seeing a personal relationship to religion without a professional clergy meant I was a radical protestant. And we all know from Max Weber that Protestantism is responsible for capitalism. Meaning that me, the one true leftist, has already been reincorporated into capitalism.

Abba, father Marx, why have you forsaken me!!
