My favorite hypercorrection (a hyperforeignism, if you like) is "habañero," and really stressing the "ñ" when you say it.
Except it's just "habanero," plain ol' "n." The confusion is presumably due to "jalapeño" having an accent.
And I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, that shouldn't matter. Because we should have universal vote by mail.
My state does this, and as far as I can tell there are zero downsides (eXcEpt iT wAsTes taXpayERs' MoNeY). Like the social aspect of voting on election day? Drop your ballot off in person, or just change your mind and vote in person.

dry beans are way cheaper than canned, and prep time for dried beans is substantially faster with a pressure cooker compared to conventional stovetop. (I love my Instant Pot!)

often there are weird down ballot measures which are confusingly worded, and sometimes local elections have a "vote for 10 candidates out of the 34 who are running." Voting at home means I can tackle it at my leisure
