It’s weird. The numbers are so big and the dates are so far out there that none of it feels real. The fact that (assuming you fit their magic profile) some bank will accept your signature in return for hundreds of thousands of dollars is stranger still. I honestly wish we lived in a society where this sort of thing was NOT the norm. But if you live in the US, home ownership is one of the few mechanisms in place for us commoners to generate and/or pass on generational wealth (assuming that the whole system doesn’t collapse like the house of cards it probably is while you own the house).

Neil Gaiman. The man can write novels, YA novels, graphic novels, children’s books. And they all have such well crafted worlds that you just want to lose yourself in them.
I also think Neal Stephenson and Corey Doctorow deserve WAY more attention than they get.
I’ve been playing around with both the BennVenn MBC3000 and the Funnyplaying MidnightTrace GB/GBC FLASH CART. I’ve heard the FP v1 had a design flaw that necessitated the V2. I’ve tried both versions and can’t tell any functional differences when playing games. The BV is (like most of his stuff) a shockingly good value.
As much as I hate ads, you’re probably right about it being a big part of their current woes. I can’t imagine that the frequency license owners are going to make that much more money with a new alternative station.
I’ve never really understood this approach. If my work laptop prevents me from doing work, I open a ticket, cc my boss, and move on with my life. I’ve got enough other stuff to do and why take on the risk associated with circumventing company security controls just to get that TPS report in on time? I’ve got documentation showing that I tried and couldn’t complete the work because of the security control.
Yeah, I think this is more of a novelty or a “because I can” sort of thing. There are enough mini retro handhelds out there that play more systems for less cost. (RIP my Miyoo Mini v1)
I’d be curious how many of those developers are excited about the platform.
The real villains here are the absurdly rich. Especially those who find ways to pay less in taxes.
The top 1% are the problem.
Tax the rich.
This is my boomer MIL. She is honestly one of the kindest people I know. . She votes pro-environment/pro-social issues and has given (almost beyond her means) everything she can to virtually anyone who needs it. She has almost nothing left, and is a stones throw from couch surfing. I have no idea what’ll happen when her health starts to fail. As frustrated as I am with boomers, I try to remember her and the good she has tried to bring about in the world.
I’m not a knower. Context?
