Doubtful that Google would be able to do it, either.

Everything is cloud-based SaaS now. Even Windows, the goddamn OS, is pushing to be some cloud-based product.

Perhaps it should clean up its child exploitation and grooming issues first.

Now replace "Reddit" with "Reddit mods" and see how it changes the dynamic instantly.

Funny, Alexis bounced out a few years ago over flimsy reasons. I think he saw the writing on the wall.

An important ingredient? Do these so called "journalists" keep up with the latest tech? Or even modern tech?

NiMH is out. NiMH is your father's tech. Nobody fucking uses NiMH except for consumer grade batteries, and even then, many people would prefer to spend the extra bucks on Li-ion rechargeables. Old Prii used to use NiMH, but Toyota switched to Li-ion a long time ago.

As far as EVs and larger batteries for home/commercial generation, Li-ion is out. LiFePO4 is the new hotness, and is quickly replacing Li-ion, because it's an easy upgrade of battery capacity.

Lithium, iron, phosphoric acid. No nickel. Who the fuck is mining nickel for EV batteries? Everybody has been talking about lithium mining as the bottleneck, not nickel. This article looks like FUD for clickbait.

Yeah, I tried to reload the page because it already showed an error.

I did get a successful hit on the web page. It's good that they are finally tackling the screen width issue. It also comes with auto-reloads as well.

My only complaint is that the items are a bit too tall. It could be shrink down to a more compact space to fit more items per screen-full.

From the main title: "Bluesky vs. Nostr"

From the byline: "Bluesky, Nostr and Mastodon"

Forgive me for sounding like a conspiracy nut, but is there an active movement to not talk about Mastodon and Lemmy, except sometimes in hushed tones?

Echo is another Amazon brand word, and Amazon, of course. Computer is so common of a word that nobody would ever want to change it to that.

Also, Ziggy was the computer on Quantum Leap.

That’s also the reason why you can’t change the activation word.

No, the reason why you can't change the activation word is because each one is tied to a recognizable and highly marketable identity. Amazon does not want you to change the name of Alexa because they want you to repeat their marketing brand over and over and over again.

That's not your point because you're missing a critical detail: Companies can make a single choice to make very large changes, but your single choice doesn't mean shit, especially if you're in a minority. It's just a way to make yourself feel smug and righteous among your peers.

Individual actions only have merit when there are large majorities driving them, pushing powerful groups with enough force to act.

Without power, you can affect nothing.

Even CRT would call this "racial bias", which is exactly what this is.
