This is the kind of thing more appropriate for an UnethicalLifeProTips community lol.

Oh yeah, 100% with Yvonne and Teren. It’s kinda like Teren’s like “you hired me as CEO, now let me be CEO and back off.”

Unrelated hot take but the thumbnails don’t seem as egregious as others I’ve seen, but honestly I might’ve just gotten used to them, or I pay more attention to what he’s holding or something.

On another note, I do also hope things get better. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed in Linus’s own response in the video as he still victimized himself, but he said some things that seemed genuine after. Half the stuff about Billet labs I found reasonable but the rest seemed half-baked. Hats off to the rest of his staff and his CEO though—they were very genuine and not shy about taking accountability. I appreciate the CEO taking charge as he’s a much more sane voice than Linus in my opinion, and I appreciate Yvonne standing up.

What the f did you just effing say about me, you little dumbass? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the MIT, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret techniques on Al-Gebra, and I have over 300 confirmed integrations. I am trained in gorilla mathematics and I’m the top math wiz in the entire set of US computational forces. You are nothing to me but just another equation. I will solve you the f out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my effing definitions. You think you can get away with simplifying that fraction that way over the Internet? Think again, factorial. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of underground mathematicians across the world and your domain is being traced right now so you better prepare for the tangent, maggot. The tangent that wipes out that pathetic little unknown variable you call your life. You’re effing summed, sequence. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can solve you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my pen and paper. Not only am I extensively trained in calculating by hand, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the Texas Instruments Calculator Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable x's off the face of the page, you little inkstain. If only you could have known what unholy differentiation your little “trigonometric” problem was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your exponential range. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn polynomial. I will prove fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re solved, kiddo.

Hell yeah (btw)

Thanks! Unfortunately, my region’s already set to United States and I’ve restarted my phone, so I guess it’s just a bug with the beta and I’ll have to just wait until the next update comes out.

Thanks again!

Hello, I am currently on the iOS 17 beta and I don't seem to have the "Personal Voice" option in the Accessibility settings on my iPhone 11. Any idea what may be the issue?

I…really think this is ironic, there’s no way someone who’s kinda pissed about “cultural appropriation” would use that many table flips and say owo and stuff

no one’s been a douche to me (yet? Pls don’t start lol).

too bad, go to hell 😈

just kidding, happy to hear you're having a good experience!

What in the world?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Gotcha. I haven't been in the loop with beehaw and shitjustworks and everything like that, but I could picture that kind of drama happening.

The Threads stuff is also hella wack, people seem to have a ton of heavy opinions about it.

I do think the ability to filter different communities and stuff out is really valuable. I've had a few friends who (understandably) had pretty negative opinions on Reddit long before the API stuff, but I think a big part that they missed is how easily you could curate your Reddit feed, which made my experience much better. I did delete my Reddit account, but I wouldn't find it unreasonable to believe that Reddit's fairly the same way it was before the protest since lots of people still stick around and are just casual users who don't care too much (and I don't really blame them haha).

I was recently talking to some friends about Lemmy and the whole Fediverse idea, as it seemed like a really cool part of the Internet. As I was talking about it, though, I realized how unusually friendly this whole place is, and I joked that I "surprisingly haven't found any bigotry."

I'm wondering if anyone has come across that, by any chance. If it's rare, my guess is that even though it's decentralized, each instance has a set of rules and values that are shared throughout the Fediverse, and I'm guessing it's easy to defederate with any seedy communities haha.

So I have a 40 year old son and I decided to check his computer like other parents do. Usually when I check my son's computer, it just has the normal desktop you're supposed to see on your computer: a white screen that says Gooogle.com or something, whatever the kids do these days. Search history is also empty so I know that my husband doesn't use the internet like a naughty child. But then I accidentally moved the little paperweight on his desk and a pointer moved to the corner of the screen, right above the a red X. I tapped the paperweight, and there was a little button!, I pressed the button, and the screen changed! There's a picture that showed up with so many weird icons, the bottom bar had a thing that seemed like the devil made it to be parent-proof! I don't know what to do please help my son has hid a whole special hacker interface from me to hide his devolution into sin.

There seems to be a bug when viewing this instance:

(Heh, it's at least way better than accessing lemmy.world right now...)
