The title is misleading. Switzerland pension system is complex and divided by redistribution and capitalization.

The vote of today concerns the pension by redistribution – the first pillar. Employers and employees are contributing for this part of the system as a percentage of the salary. The maximal pension is 2500 Swiss francs (2’829 USD). People will receive a rise equivalent to 1/12 of the yearly pension.

The pension by capitalization – second pillar – follow the same system, with employers and employees contributing for it. But, it is not concern by the vote.

First and second pillar are mandatory by law. In Switzerland, you have a third pillar, which isn't mandatory. It's mostly investment, like life insurance.

You're playing the classic "it's the individual responsability" game. It's how you deregulate everything and the consumer losses every right.

We have to acknowledge that we have systemic or/and societal issues. This is a systemic issues so a common thing.

The issue is wider than Brave. Nowadays, companies build uncritical communities around their products.

If you try to be critical, you loose the community in which you're involved on one side. And, if you are critical from the outside, "you don't understand" like in the "you're not the choose one".

The more I read about LMG, the more the structure of the company looks like a mob.

There is one guy with his wife at the top of the pyramid. The CEO and others are below. If the top of the pyramid has what it ask for, nobody will care about what's happening.

This is one of these problem with multiple unsolvable issues:

  • people are used to ad block and won't change
  • the price is too high for part of the population (-> ad block for part of them)
  • $1/month, $10/year would attract new paid account but not that much
  • people can't afford/don't want a subscription everything
  • users don't see any value in it
  • a fraction of the paid will go ad block with the price increase
  • people will circumvent the ad block block
  • capitalism
  • ...
