I agree, this feels like the worst of the leylines shown so far this set. Does literally nothing until maybe turn 3 or 4, depending on format, and hitting WUBRG is fairly difficult in Standard, Pioneer, and Pauper. It's unusable in Mono-G Commander decks due to color identity.

There's a reason Jodah, Archmage Eternal isn't a factor in competitive formats.

That's true of a majority of commons.

I was trying to see if this could fit into Insidious Roots, but it's 2 mana instead of the 1 mana that helps the combo go off, and its power is too high to trigger Gorehound. The fact that they haven't already slotted Thespian into those decks means this won't fit either.

I really like Bloomburrow, but I haven't found a good way to make Squirrels work in constructed. In limited, they just accept tons of value and overwhelm with that in the long run. In Standard, I just don't see any squirrel-based finisher, instead having to resort to Ygra or the big 6-mana snake. How do you tend to win with your squirrel deck?

Why is this a news article? Why is this posted to this community? It's a well written article, but it carries no new news, and is just an article by the author of a book that's about to go on sale.

Aw dang, Special Guest. For a second I thought it was coming to Standard.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

That's valid! I think Standard is a place both for the uber-competitive as well as the casual brewer. I have a janky MonoG deck I'm running in paper and on Arena, and while it won't win an RCQ, it's good enough to have a winning record at local FNM-like events, and that's good enough for me!

Neat decks! Is there a reason these are more Kitchen-table rather than Standard? Cuz they look Standard to me at first glance.

While I agree that he should be ridiculed for a statement like that, it's obvious that the attendees at the RNC are supportive of that statement. To them, America doesn't have deep-seated issues with race. Instead, America has the opposite! A system where minorities are favored and granted special treatment, while white people struggle to earn their fair share! (Please understand this is not my personal belief)

It makes sense to me. Biden and Trump have Secret Service detail already. RFK does not. Biden wants to make sure that it at least looks like all 3 candidates are being protected from more violence.

Anyone else feel that? Felt like 3 seconds of rumble over in the SGV.

Edit: Here's the USGS report.

You realize that AAA is used to refer to the budget, scale, and expectations of the game, right? And that it's more of a reboot than a remake, meaning it's probably not going to be an arcade style game. They're talking about their aims for the game, and trying to justify charging $60-70 for it beforehand.

First, I'm glad they found the kid. No one deserves to be manipulated and taken like that.

Second, dude, wtf? He's in his 30s and thinks that this is something he should do? The kid is literally half his age, and he seems to think that they're in any position for a genuine romantic relationship? Gross.

I understand Jaffe not being happy that the games are going in a different direction than he imagined, but he's also the guy who thought Drawn to Death needed to be made.

It's a Smissmas Miracle! Cool little patch that I might reinstall TF2 to try out.

Anything in here look exciting to you?

Not confirmed yet, but reports are saying Dodgers are getting Lance Lynn and old friend Joe Kelly. Both of them have struggled a bit this year, but having a few more arms might be beneficial, and who knows, maybe Prior can fix them.

Dodgers reportedly give up Trayce Thompson, Nick Nastrini, and Jordan Leasure.

How do y'all feel about the trade? Does it feel like the right move to make right before the deadline?

I know that I really want a few more Great Henges and my first Doubling Season, because I'm a green mage at heart. Some more Heroic Interventions would be nice, too.

My Miirym deck could use a Balefire Dragon, because I've had games where my dragons just get overrun by small creatures.

Its a bit of a small want, but my Meren deck could use a Nyx Weaver.

Lastly, I just need more staples overall, as a newer brewer. I need every Arcane Signet, Command Tower, and Sol Ring I can get my hands on!

New to coffee (lemmy.world)
submitted 1 year ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi, this sounds like a dumb question, but how should I "get into" coffee? Most of the time, I just use a Keurig and whatever pods I find at Costco. I know there's an entire world out there of people who know exactly what they're doing, but it's all quite confusing.

If I'm typically only ever making coffee for myself, what should my brewing method be? Nespresso? Pour-over? French press?

And should I be looking to try everything black, or are lattes and whatnot a good way to learn what my tastes are?
