How long until they start banning you from using thermostats made by other companies

Good, Barbie was a movie where things actually happened and characters actually did things.

I don't really understand Revolt, most people don't want to self host an entire Discord (as in, a server full of servers), most people want to self host one server.

My problem with Kagi is that they're still running at a loss and they think AI will be their savior.

And their AI currently gives extremely wrong information but the devs think that's fine because the point of their AI is to be fast not accurate.

I liked it as a search engine but at this point I can't see it surviving. If they raised the prices to where they lost a lot of customers and still can't get to positive numbers they aren't going to fix it by having AI give you wrong answers.

Right after getting home from this movie I went "man, this is going to be like Starship Troopers where it gets a ton of sequels that don't understand what this movie was, huh?"

I wish I could make a lot of cute pet boxes like this but I have gerbils so anything that goes in the cage is gonna get wrecked. Hard to justify making them cute lol.

I already strongly felt that they shouldn't reboot King of the Hill for a lot of reasons, but I especially can't imagine them going through with it now.

I have only ever gotten suicide reports when I've defended trans people on reddit, meanwhile I get them almost every single time I've done that. It's 100% transphobes hoping to make trans people think about suicide. I'm not trans or suicidal, so they're wasting their time with me, but that's the motivation behind it, hoping they might get someone in a dark place.

So I have to say I'm pretty on board with defederating from an instance that is full of posts that very much also want trans people eradicated.

Kind of, basically we live in the era of every IP possible getting some kind of adaptation just out of name recognition (and there's not a modern Twisted Metal game to justify it so it could easily have been a nostalgia ploy and nothing else) and frankly I don't think Twisted Metal has the most compelling writing as a video game either so it was a low bar to begin with. Twisted Metal Black has some fun monkey paw ideas but it would be hard to adapt a TV series to just that given that you'd need every contestant to win to see how their wishes go.

So I didn't have much reason to think it'd do well as a TV show but I think they took the best bits of it and let themselves get creative enough outside of it to make it work for the most part.

I guess I'm starting with a book technically but Battle Royale would have made a better TV series than movie, the movie doesn't have time to delve into that many characters and the little side characters are what made the book so good.

I'm in the weird middle ground of person who kind of knows some of the Twisted Metal game stories but doesn't really care a lot about it, and I was shocked at how competent this show is. I definitely got the feeling they didn't have the budget to do more car stuff but were fishing for a second season and more money for that. They did a great job with the car scenes they did have. But I think they made as good of a show as anyone is going to with Twisted Metal and it was a really fun watch. I was expecting way, way, way less from it.

I have to wonder if the people staunchly against defederation at any cost ever dealt with redditors from hate subs following them around reddit from sub to sub everywhere they posted to keep screaming at them about trans women not being women, while also repeatedly reporting them to Reddits suicide bot to try to make them think about suicide. It's not exactly the nicest online experience and I had it more than once in my time on reddit.

To me the benefit of federation includes defederation. If it was easy to just say "get rid of all the users from r/hatesub" on reddit it would have been a lot nicer. I don't know why people are clamoring to keep hateful shit around. Go join the hateful shit instance if you want to read it so bad but I'd rather the users of an instance like that not be able to see me at all since queer people like me are who they hate so bad, and I can't exactly block all of them.
