Are you using Sync? They're not clickable from that app because of its own decisions about URLs, but they're clickable from every other piece of software that has ever been invented to access web pages, so there's not much I can do beyond what I've already done (post on their Community and on their Issues github)

It's hosted on lemmynsfw.com, but 'Hayley Williams' is just pics of the Paramore musician. There's quite a few "[email protected]" (all modded by one person) that are like that.

On the other hand, 'Sex Meme Pit' comes from lemmyf.uk and features suggestive pics that arguably aren't SFW, but the community tag has been changed from NSFW, so it ends up on this list rather than the other one (albeit as a 'previous entry').

It stores it as a JSON in the same directory as the executable.

I chose my current one because it offered Alexandrite as a front-end, and I didn't realise I could've just gone to alexandrite.app and used it for my old instance ('cos I'm stoopid).

I get the sense that many of the initial hold-outs came around to it eventually, even if they won't publicly admit it. It feels like some just can't find the words to allow them to back down.

They'll always be an audience of people who want their own nostalgia fed back to them (and I'm probably guilty of part of that group too, sometimes). Just have to hope that something like Andor comes up occasionally, to use a genre like sci-fi for its intention, to critique our world, rather than just be an expensive re-creation of bashing toys together.

One way is to call the LinkFixerBot in a reply to my original comment, like:

[AT] CommunityLinkFixer [AT] lemmings.world

Another is to copy/paste the url into the search bar of your instance, change to thing you're searching for from Communities to Posts, and it should pop up.

Looks interesting.

As an aside, it bums me out to see how many covers for sci-fi books are actually just 3 stock images mashed together.

[email protected] is involved in a similar project.

They made a post about it here: https://lemmy.world/post/2693464

GitHub Link for one of those bots, which mentions in the README that there are similar bots here and here

Instinctively I'd say no. It needs to be more than just visuals. It's completely unfair of course, but I feel like if you can watch it on Disney+, then it's automatically not Cyberpunk.

Interesting read. When reality won't sell, chance the reality.

Minor criticism: I've absolutely no interest in hearing anything about what Ben Shapiro thinks, even from someone who disagrees with him.

Ah crap. I saw the lemmy.ml of the Community they posted to and never looked at the user.
