In the UK tax is deducted 'at source' by your employer for anybody employed. You have a personal tax code, which tells your employer how much tax to deduct and pay on you behalf.

You then have a number of allowances you can claim against if you are eligible, to reduce your tax, which issues you an updated tax code.

We have a very right wing cabinet, mainly due to everybody else getting kicked out/ resigning. They are very likely to get kicked out themselves next year, but due to the fixed term parliament law they are basically untouchable until then, so they are getting as much shit done as they can before they get replaced.

This is why governments need to get involved legislationing profits from AI work. Shareholders can't be the beneficiary of lower costs from AI when it means workers lose their jobs. There needs to be an AI specific tax, to support people losing their livelihoods.

John Bierce's Mage Errant is another highly regarded ProgFantasy series - that has recently published its last book in the 'initial series'. I fully expect other works in the same setting though.

Personally I'm also a big fan of Sarah Lin's work in general specifically Street Cultivation and Weirkey Chronicles.

Tao Wong is another very prolific writer in this space - his non LitRPG series, and IMO his best work is the series A Thousand Li - which is a more traditional Chinese Cultivation setting - but without being a Translated Novel. Some ProgFantasy fans find the Progression in this slow.
