Looks like the bankruptcy was killed. But yeah, the NRA has been bleeding members and is spending it's money on legal flights. They are in a pretty bad state

2A absolutism is a recent invention in modern politics started by the NRA. Restrictions on guns and gun ownership have been in the law books since pretty close to the founding.

There are already restrictions on who can own guns and what guns can be purchased by the public.

When I say 2A insanity, I'm talking about Republicans blocking all common sense gun legislation. I don't think that will stay forever. I don't believe a repeal of 2A needs to happen to make things significantly better. You could, for example, make it illegal to sell/own guns under 30. You could ban magazines. You could limit the caliber of bullets sold. You could make gun manufacturers civilly liable for the advertisements they put out.

Before even addressing if 2A is a good amendment (it isn't) we can do all this

I sort of wonder how much longer 2A idiocy will last in the US. The NRA has gone bankrupt and since they aren't able to funnel Russian money to politicians like they used to be able to, their influence is basically zero at this point.

With them out of the picture, there's really not a powerful gun lobby getting right wing media to talk about Democrats as gun grabbers.

If you peruse conservative spaces like I do, you'll notice that talking point has evaporated.

Here's the thing, Vance didn't make up the story, a Nazi did. I'm guessing Vance is now claiming responsibility because lying about the origin is better than the truth, that he's just repeating lies from self avowed Nazis.

Ohio could possibly sue him civilly because of the bomb threats that caused them to shut down schools. That's the best I got.

If anyone is hurt over this, then they likely have standing for a civil suit (see Alex Jones).

Criminal it's definitely more tricky. Trump will likely get away with telling his followers to storm the capitol, so I doubt "eating cats and dogs" comes close to the same standard.

Once upon a time, admitting to something like this would have been an impeachable offense. But that's long sailed as something Congress would fairly enforce.

Conspiracy bullshit and racism.

Israel and its supporters did a GREAT job of linking anti-israel sentiment to antisemitism. That alone made reporting of its messed up actions and history taboo. Certainly does not help that neonazis are also frequently anti-israel.

But... Shit... I mean Israel was founded on white jewish supremacy. Real hard to have a state founded on racial supremacy not turn into a fucking nightmare.

The benefit of sous vide for a restaurant is you can hold multiple steaks at rare and give them a quick sear when ordered. The soaking breaks down the collagen which ultimately makes the steak tender.

However, for a home cook a reverse sear will give a superior steak. It will similarly break down the collagen, but also creates a nice crust that sous vide can't create.

Restaurants don't reverse sear because it's unpredictable and takes too much time.

In fact this is basically the only way for the war to end. By capturing Russian territory Russia now has a reason to come to negotiations to just call everything off to get their land back.

It's ok, just think of all the 4 year old hamas terrorists they killed!

Conservative debate has basically devolved into "But, can you tell me what a woman is?". Trump could have a team of the best conservative debaters in his ear and he'd do just about as well.

Also doesn't help that he doesn't listen to jack shit so he'd likely rip out the headphone for being annoying.

How many people will vote in a county is super predictable. There are only 2 reasons to run out of ballots

  1. Turnout is unusually high (Not likely).
  2. You printed less ballots than you needed (Really likely).

That's it, that's the end of the reasons. You can literally print the same number of ballots for the last similar election and you'd have a good chance of having enough at least for most of the voting with some good early indicators that you need more at the beginning of the election. To run out 2 hours into an election shows you didn't even print as many ballots as you did for the last major election.

The math for how many ballots to print is "last similar election * (county growth percentage * last election turnout percentage) * 1.05". That's it. That will cover enough ballots for pretty much any election except for an extreme one where turnout is WAY higher than what could be predicted.
