My favorite thing I've got off eBay so far was a catalytic converter. It was empty.

My state doesn't do emissions, and I kind of knew what I was getting...but wow...I can't believe a company would allow that in the first place.

You've clearly never lost a dispute on eBay. It's possibly the worst customer experience I've had.

I needed a glass part for a projector, it showed up broken. Tried to send it back and the seller offered like a 10% refund. eBay...after waiting a week (mandatory dispute resolution time) showed up, spent another week trying to meditate, the just said fuck it, the seller is right, eat a dick and your broken color wheel.

eBay gives you the illusion of consumer protection until you actually need it.

But no, based on some of the car parts and things I've gotten off eBay...the quality is objectively not better than what I've seen off Temu.

Dunno...I'm not saying Microsoft isn't doing bad things...I'm just saying they wouldn't be my priority.

I've met people that have gotten decent stuff off there. Their clothes seem nice and the electronics are hit and miss.

It's about the same rate of crap to quality as EBay these days, and Amazon is only marginally better.

The Rs...it was interesting, when Trump was declared guilty I watched Fox and Newsmax to see if they had actually reported on it.

They WERE calling for a rebellion. They mentioned the 2nd amendment a couple of times, and the rhetoric was generally violence.

The message conservatives get is very different than what the rest of the world gets.

Uh...the big We is fucking stupid. It's not stopping anything at this point. That ship has sailed.

Weird...very weird. AWS owns nearly ~~50%~~ over 30% of the web, but they're going after MS for a shitty product (Azure), which is at 20-25%

My hope died when she conceded. It's the same thing that happened in 2016...there were a bunch of counties that we way off their polls. The D's didn't care and let us slide.

My tinfoil hat says it's just too profitable for the D's to have Trump in office. They don't have to accomplish anything, publicly wring their hands loudly, and the donations pour in.

Agreed...the community editions of their tools are solid, but if you're doing cloud stuff, get your company to pay for it. It blows VS Code out of the water.

VS Code is OK if you can't afford the JetBrains ultimate subscription. I never want to see a VS Code launch configuration again.

These false stories of companies skipping christmas bonuses and crying wolf.

Uh...those aren't false. They've been cross checked with AP. Also, look at the trends from his first presidency and they follow. It's not a surprise, at all.

What if it does spur domestic manufacturing of something

Because no one will notice when all those jobs are minimum wage, no protections, shit jobs. For example...the reason there's so many Tech layoffs right now isn't the economy. It's because they figured out they can fire an FTE and rehire them on contract for 20-50k cheaper due to no benefits. Trump exempted them from overtime. He's going to do that to factory workers as well.

And you can't manufacture anything if you don't have the materials to build. Check out what happened in Michigan with Foxconn.

Trump bankrupted a casino...it's a business model where people walk in and hand you money. It's damn near impossible to lose money in that model. But he did it somehow.

abandon the Dem voter base.

I'm Ok with that at this point. The Dem voting base is just liberal Republicans at this point. It's time for something else.

There was an article earlier about people smoking crack if they thing Trump is up 10 points.

Well...he's up 10 points. The Democrats need to do something fairly drastic soon if they want to win 24.
