The company I worked for was a VC backed startup and they used the phrase: no more free money, to let us know we were let go. A lot of governments kept interest artificially low to ward of a recession (causing our current one) before and during covid. With this low interest rate people (more likely companies) were able to borrow money from the banks with no or even negative interest. Thus the idea of free money, as long as you invest and don’t lose it you can use that money to “make” more money.

Now with the interest rates rising this is a lot riskier, and VCs and companies are less eager to invest.

Let me know if this cleared it up 😁

Love to see privatization hit every sector, however they want to spin it this’ll be a loss for Greek society

Fucking bullshit. I spent a couple of months in Vietnam and the sentiment is the opposite, first off they call it the American war. Words matter and in this case they it’s clear they view it as a war caused and perpetuated by a foreign government and not as a civil war between south and north.

Second is the fact that almost all museums and everyone I talked with is not hiding their disdain for the treatment and warcrimes committed against their family in this war. And their pride in having survived the war as a more unified country, this shows in their sentiment towards the renaming of Saigon to Ho-Chi-Minh City.

Anecdotal of course but I’m really not sure where he met these people, my experience is like I wrote abough, North through South.

I have some Finish friends who thought this was just a symbolic position. I think a lot of the EU democracies are in risk to be falling over to the right without the checks and balances working like the average person expects them to, scary shit if you’d ask me

I don’t see farmers looking past the next season, or not in this context at least. Most of them around me are trying to outrun their debts, or get bought out by large corps. Really not sure how to get them to be invested in the environment when they have been able to abuse it up to now

If testing this properly is your problem you should invest time in integration testing, running them on an in-memory database is an option as well. I think retrieving all the data and “caching” it like you call it has some negative consequences, for example what if the validation for some action fails and you didn’t need to load whatever you preloaded? Waste of a call to the db

I’ve taken smartphones and laptops, given for work but then never returned when leaving. Nothing permanent for hosting but I have used our infra for games and file sharing.

All you need to know about Spanish conservatives is that they literally want to go back to the (not so) old Franco dictatorship
