Thank you for the reminder I should binge some QI again.

Yeah, there really is nothing like the Neverhood OST either.

I'm glad I got the whole experience in my life before I really knew anything about Western religion or the creator. I just got to enjoy the game as a child would. With some help from smarter people around me. XD

Oh, yes. This was also a game of my childhood. I first played it when I was six, maybe? Didn't get very far, because I never thought to go back to the place the Weasel popped out of for that final button to get out of the first area. I think I was eight when my older sib and I finally completed it. This was before I had access to the internet, so we called up the family member who had given it to us for hints when we finally put our nose to the grindstone to get it done.

In retrospect, the help we needed was ridiculous and somehow we figured out the harder puzzles with less issues. (Probably not me. My sib is better at those things than I am.)

I also didn't know anything about the biblical overtones, because I wasn't raised with religion. It was just nutty and unique. Yet I still listen to the Neverhood OST and quote Willie Trombone's tapes.

I remember being scared of the first person sections. I genuinely expected something to pop out. XD

Today I read the news.

...mentally and emotionally hurting counts too, right?

Whether people like his videos or not is irrelevant. He has done a lot for lots of causes and he genuinely appears to wish everyone the best. It isn't a stunt. Over the years he's put his actions where his words are to prove that he cares.

I don't watch him as much as I used to, but whenever I do or hear something about him, that much hasn't changed.

AI-generated art posted anywhere can bother me. It depends.

If the art comes with a post crediting the art and artists used to create the piece? I don't mind them, even if the art isn't to my taste. But more than often it's not. And I do consider it stealing if the AI-generated art wasn't pulling only from the person who was using the AI's own art.

As most take from anywhere on the internet and attributes it to no one, I shall continue to block.

There is something strange to me about using the term teenager when referring to someone in ancient Egypt. There is nothing wrong with it, but seeing it in an article opposed to in casual conversation? New to me.

Some people in the comments are missing the point. You didn't want something. You told your parents you and your partner didn't want it. You were given and pressured into it regardless.

Do not feel awful for not appreciating it. It doesn't matter why you don't. Your parents have ignored you completely. Not just you on the cruise, but your wishes in the first place. It doesn't matter how nice Cozumel is. If you are stressed out from the cruise experience to start with, you won't be in the mind space to enjoy something else you might have if you were visiting it normally.

OP, this is not your fault. You have every right to feel angry. You were left out in many ways and guilted into feeling bad about yourself for not enjoying something you upfront said you didn't want.

I hope this gives you the ability to stand your ground in the future. Sure, it can be nice to experience new things and find out you like something you never thought you would. But that's up to you to decide. Whether its about a cruise or something else, only you and your partner should make that decision for yourselves. I hope you call your parents out on this, but if you don't, I hope you can always say "no" without buckling in the future.

Sounds like you have a lot in common with my father's reading tastes. In which case, I will recommend the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde.

I had not heard this one before, though I have looked into atonal music one time in the past. This is certainly the most unsettling piece I have ever heard and it is amazing. Thank you for sharing the link.

When you are on your own schedule, yes. Otherwise you have to deal with the schedules of businesses and people who aren’t available at night. My doctor won’t see me at midnight, after all.

Yeah, but the community here is theonion. The comment applies the same for any of the satire sites.
