With the new poster having dropped, I thought it might be fun to compile the various Lower Decks posters, along with their theatrical poster counterparts. So...why don't we do that?

Very nice. I feel like this past week has finally felt seasonal.

Writing in this month's edition of Doctor Who Magazine, he said: "In the office, this show is generally shortened to TWB, which makes me think it stands for Torchwood: Birmingham. We’re in the third week of filming. Very exciting!

"The shoot will go on until just before Christmas, and it’s a mammoth task, all wrangled by one director, Dylan Holmes Williams.

  1. It's not a zero-sum game, and one entry doesn't have to die for another to live.

  2. From estimates I've seen, the viewership of "Lower Decks" is relatively low, second only to "Prodigy." It may be very popular with people like us, but it doesn't seem to generate as many viewers as you might expect.

Oh, I agree - the game has had a very good run.

Yeah, I think that one's in the can.

I think the Terran arc of 2021-2023 was high-quality, even though I didn't find it as engaging as the Klingon Civil War had been. We've already talked about the latest arc being relatively underwhelming, but at the same time, I think the episodes have been well-made, and I assume they were done under the watchful eyes of the Cryptic Old Guard.

Next year will truly tell the tale of what DECA is going to do.

The one thing that gives me any hope at all is that Star Trek is pretty popular in Germany...but with everything else that's going on, it's still a pretty faint hope.

Honestly, I think the headline was just written under the assumption that all readers know the MB government has already rolled out that coverage.

If I were to make predictions (foolish!), I would say...

  • The game will probably soldier on for a significant period of time.

  • It will probably be in a "zombie" state, not unlike that of Champions Online (as I understand it, I don't really play that game).

  • We're closer to STO's end than its beginning.

It's certainly encouraging that he's at least expecting to do a third series. I've always assumed that the BBC would carry on even if the Disney deal ends.

It's interesting how quickly multiverse stuff became a tired trope in current genre TV/film.

Lower Decks being what it is, I suspect it will be a one-off gag.

The wording is vague, but I think there's a chance it will be the complete set, or as close to it as possible.

They built the whole thing for the show, so hopefully they had the good sense to keep it all.

The great thing about DW is that you can redo an origin as often as you want, and it's all equally canon!
