Why are you pretending that Biden isn't currently in power and hasn't been in power for the past 4 fucking years? Why has he done jackshit about abortion as of yet, and why do you think he'll do something once reelected?

It's gotten to the point where my German, liberal, status quo stanning parents can no longer defend Israel. I've talked on here before about my immense frustrations with them because they just kept parroting "but Khamas" talking points, not because they're evil ghouls, but because they're naive libs who believe whatever the news says.

But while German news hasn't changed its tone at all, there's only so many times you can say "Israel massacred even more civilians but the IDF assures us they didn't do it in a genocidal way" before your audience goes "Hey, hold on, wait a minute."

They're not cheering for our brave Al-Qassam mujahideen yet and my dad is already pivoting to "it's Netanyahu's fault", but I'm just relieved that they're not defending this nazi terror state anymore. I've been feeling like I'm going insane for the past 6 months. I'm glad they're no longer pretending like this is normal.

I feel like they had a joke in there that could've worked but the delivery made it pretty much incomprehensible. Something something Jackson Hinkle something something "Nobody knows more about antisemitism than me"

I see what they were going for but apparently they couldn't find a single funny person in the entire country.

Went to uni with a guy who was both an outspoken communist and an even more outspoken zionist (only in germany yea )

I checked his twitter shortly after October 7th and he was doing hasbara like a good little doggy, ticking all the boxes.

Checked his twitter again last week and his tweets are now protected. Aww, were people mean to you cause you defended the fucking Nazis?

Big Joel made the argument that The Lion King is fascist, as it portrays the hyenas as a race who have to be kept out of our territory because, due to their ravenous, insatiable nature, they will inevitable turn any area into a barren wasteland were they to be let in. And the movie validates that, as once Scar takes power, the hyenas do just that. It makes it clear that there is no peaceful coexistence with the hyenas.

And then Big Joel says that nevertheless, The Lion King "objectively slaps". I forgot what his exact point was but the AoT discourse kinda reminds me of that.

Shower thought: I wonder if "white people don't season their food" traces back to Western exploitation in some way. White people have historically been able to afford more fresh and expensive foods that taste good with relatively little effort, while people in poorer regions have had to get innovative to make the cheap, more plain foods taste good.

Fun fact: Clefable's German name is also Pixi.

Even funner fact: Clefairy and Cleffa in German are called Piepi and Pii, respectively. Yes, those are pronounced peepee and pee.

Tesla is building a humanoid robot to do manual labor and this is up there with his idiotic hyper loop projects in being a perfect example of his insane obsession with form over function because FuUTuRee.

Proposed tasks for the product are ones that are "dangerous, repetitive and boring", such as providing manufacturing assistance.

This week, Mr Musk told investors the humanoid robot's first application would be at a Tesla plant "moving parts around the factory, or something like that". But in the future, he sees it helping solve labour shortages.

Tesla Bot will measure 5'8" (173 cm) tall and weigh 125lbs (57 kg) [...] and have a carrying capacity of 45 lb (20 kg).

Elon thought to himself "wow wouldn't it be like really futuristic if we had humanoid robots working in our factories" and then decided that was a good idea. We have thousands, thousands of machines that can do repetitive, boring tasks like these better than any human ever could. There is literally no practical reason to confine your machine to human form, which is absolutely not optimal for pretty much anything.

2 legs are stupidly impractical, they make you slow and incredibly easy to push over compared to something with 4 legs, let alone something with wheels. Even just walking is a balancing act. 2 legs are the reason this billion-dollar-punchline can only carry a pathetic 20 kilograms.

The only, and I mean the only reason this is done is because it looks futuristic. In practice, it's a massive step backwards and it will make any work place perform worse than without them. Elon doesn't want "machines", those don't look like the future, he needs "robots". Robots which are, in practice, just humans but worse.
