Drafted a bit earlier today and came out of my draft with Skyy because of it. We'll see.

Kinda. Because your ass gets wet, you can't scrub it (which you do in the shower) and then you need to dry it with paper, causing what OP mentioned. Not for me.

I hate the state of our world as it is right now. It's been itching inside my head for quite some time alreadu. It probably is somewhat political, because it probably has something to do with capitalism, but I can't understand how a population that has never been so productive still has to work their ass off in order to simply eat and lay in a bed safely. The more I think about it, the less sense it makes and the more I hate how natural it is for seemingly everyone around me.

I'm not one of these people, despite also not being wealthy at all, I have a job, I don't get paid top dollar but I have a safe house, food on the table and I can do a little bit more with my money, and yes, that's it, EVERYTHING seems to revolve around money.

Never did a bidet, but I avoid paper to ass like a plague.

I mean, if I'm not home, I do it and whatever.

But I normally just go to shower and that's it. Just clean it while showering.

When you are on a diarrhea and shitting multiple times a day, your ass starts getting irritated after so much paper. By simply cleaning it in the shower, you have no more irritation.

How toxic corporate environment is.

I had only worked for small businesses before. Obviously they had a lot of problems and I don't miss a single thing. But now I'm in a huge IT company that outsourced part of its operation to the another huge IT company I'm actually in.

Both suck, but still I gotta learn to "play the game".

Home smart devices in general. I'm avoiding Alexa, Siri or any other thing like that. Besides the obvious privacy issues I see about them, I can only imagine being alone at home, Alexa thinking something talked to her and responding in a distorted voice. No, thanks.

I'm considering a home assistant at some point, by setting up a proper network for the smart devices alone, but that's as far as I'll go.

Yes, it is paid. I recently signed up for the 30 day play as a test drive and see if it made sense to me... And it really is game changing.

Torrent may be enough most of the time, but Stremio has a serious problem about speed, I don't know why. I enabled the "ultra fast" settings in the menu, but I can't get the same speed I'd get downloading the same torrent through any torrent client.

It made it impossible to watch 4gb movies, for example, I was basically stuck with lower quality 1-2gb ones.

Real debrid changed that. I watched a 17gb one the other day just fine.

If some movie isn't available through RD, you can signal RD to download it and it will be available to you (and others) a bit later as well, but I haven't really needed it so far.

Yep, went to see Beau is Afraid discussion on Reddit through Google and the thread wasn't opening. Was wondering if something was wrong with /r/movies. Turns out it was Joey.

RIP. Greatest Reddit app.

I translated it through Google, lol. I'm not in a English speaking country, so that's the translation I found and the images seemed to match hahaha

Money belts are coming back, but not the old style. We're wearing it across the chest, like a bag. They're even making money belts with more of an adjustable belt so that you can use however you want/feel better. Basically, becomes a bag.

I really wish it would be more mainstream. I always wore shorts with more pockets because fuck I didn't like holding shit in my hand. Recently, shorts with pockets haven't really been a thing, so I gave the money belt a chance and I really like its utility. Nothing inside my short pockets anymore.

Hey Lemmings

I think maybe I'm just a bit anxious right now.

But I don't know what to expect.

I already go to a psychologist once a week, since my early teens (although I had some time off until now).

Should I expect the same dynamics?

I know why I'm going and all, I know what I wanna "treat", but I'm still in doubt about if what I want to treat is the treatment I need, and it would be more of a consequence of some deeper stuff.

Don't know if I made myself clear, but there it is.

Has anyone been to one before? What should I expect? How it went for you?

Replies to my posts/comments don't appear to be anywhere in the app.

Am I dumb and unable to find it or we really don't have any?

Can anyone recommend a good one?

I'd like one that can kinda "save" my progress not only locally. Maybe an app account or something that integrates with a cloud service?

I had an ancient one very early in my smartphone days, but as I lost/had my phone stolen I would lose all my progress and miss the pages of the books I was reading.

Is there anything like that? Most of these banners are invasive and I generally decline all by default, besides necessary ones.

I have "I don't care about cookies" extension on desktop, although it doesn't really fix it most of the times. Also, some sites keep showing them if I navigate through it or refresh the page.

But for Android I couldn't manage to find any extension for it.

Is anyone aware of any?

Not willing to give them ideas so fast.

That's something that popped in my head as soon as I started in here, not so long ago.

But there's nothing to prevent that, right? I mean, Meta could very well create a meta instance on Lemmy or Kbin or Mastodon or in all of them, bring a bunch of users, sprinkle in some ads because why not.

Sure, they could be defederated from more restrictive insfances. In the bigger picture, every other instance could boycott them, but they would surely federate among themselves (Elon meets Mark, ugh). They also have all the computational power and would have no problem being the largest instances in the Fediverse.

Then what? Is that feasible? Probable? My utopian future about a free, descentralized Fediverse is a lie?

On Android: App settings > Jerboa > Set as default > Supported web addresses > check whatever you like

I checked my instance's only, so whenever I click some link to a community in Jerboa it I will go directly to the community, instead of it opening in the browser.

Don't think it will work very well with other instances, right now tho. At least not until link redirection is launched.

Ignore 'smaller userbase' if you prefer it that way. We're talking about it as a platform, in its UI, functionalities, etc.

I go first: You can post images in the text body with a simple Ctrl+V. No need to upload it somewhere or even save to your device.

So, in your opinion, in what Lemmy is better than Reddit already?
