ooh my old laptop had a problem like this too, but instead of ripping off it just got so rigid it would probably completely destroy the whole hull if i tried to force it open, to "fix" it, me and my cousin just opened the laptop and (carefully /s) completely removed the hinges (or at least the part of it that connects to the base of the laptop), now it is right beside me here hosting a jellyfin server with the screen being propped up only by a wi-fi router >:3

cross-posted from: https://sh.itjust.works/post/20257982 (got no answers there sooo... someone here has something to say? Sorry if it's out of place...)

which one wold pair up better, less bottleneck and all that, a bottleneck calculator said the 560 works better, can i trust it? Is there any other gpus i should consider? (Small budget, Brazil is complicated)

(I use linux, if that changes something)

So, i use linux, i don't have any windows install on my disk, but someone wants me to install windows on their HDD, so, if i plug said HDD on one of my sata ports and try to install windows 10 on it, will it mess with my linux boot? if yes, is there a way to prevent that without physically disconnecting my main drive? (my main is an nvme ssd, that's why I'd rather not remove it, already suffered enough trying to screw that in ther

Edit: Fortunally i got to convince the person to bring their whole PC, so now i won't have to deal with this anymore! Thank you very much for all the answers everyone

changing the email on the email field on the settings menu doesn't seem to do anything so i wanted to ask to make sure

So, i just started using I3 through Arcolinux, it's working pretty nicely all things considered but i'm having one little problem, a game i play uses keys that are very close to a keybind combination that is set here and that makes me accidentally trigger it sometimes, and i wanted to know how, if possible i can make so this keybind is disabled while I'm playing this game, searching for a solution i found this thread on reddit (yeah, lack of better places, but hey I'm asking here now so it's an opportunity to get some info on here!) That seems to be talking about pretty much what i need, buut i have no idea how to create these scripts and all that and i didn't had much success on searching on how to do this kind of thing before so... a little help please? Is there any more efficient method, or something like that?

So, i use linux with kde and was copying some gigabytes of files from a smartphone to a usb device and while doing that the system monitor kept showing that it was writing some mb/s and i got curious, is said writing happening to my ssd or is it just talking about the usb drive?

Does having swap memory damage SSDs too much, what do you think about it?

I hope it's fine to ask this here, I'm using endeavor os with KDE and got some little speakers for my pc, they however only seem to play sound from the "front left" channel, is there a way to make pulse audio send all audio on it? Like, mono mode? I couldn't find anything that does that...

Edit: Found a solution! Like i said before in a comment on this post turned out i was running pipewire-pulse, so i could use pipewire solutions! tried easyeffects and it perfectly fitted my needs, thanks for all the responses everyone!

Yeah, that's the question, found out bout this browser some time ago and got curious on what do people around here think about it, seems to be open sorce and firefox based so... Does it have a general good reputation among those who know it?

(Floorp's oficial website: https://floorp.app/
And their github page that is in English: https://github.com/Floorp-Projects/Floorp/)

If I'm not mistaken the 240gb ssd + 500gb hd combination is a tiiiny little cheaper, which one y'all think is more worth it and why?

This question studdenly appeared in my mind, A hypothetical liquid that is completely incapable of transferring (consequentially holding too, right?) Any heat in any way, how would it feel to touch it? We feel cold when heat gets out of our body and hot when it gets in right? Would it just feel perfectly neutral?

Found this slightly sus shaped string on the floor recently

😱

Lol

I should’ve cutted this pic before posting it is too large, sorry!
