It also depends a lot on the shape and size of your face and head, so what works best for me might not work so well for you.

If you want to be more certain of the fit of your respirator, this video outlines in detail how to do a fit test using a solution made from commonly available saccharin sweeteners (make sure you use saccharin and not a different artificial sweetener, bitter fit testing solution can also easily be purchased online as an alternative).

The process itself isn't too difficult, and the required equipment (a device to aerosolize the solution and a hood to concentrate it in the air around your head) is easy to find and inexpensive.

IIRC N95s shaped like the Aura fit a larger variety of faces than rigid cup shaped ones like the one you posted. They're also usually more comfortable. It might be worth it for you to try some other respirators if the ones you have are painful in some situations.

Aaron Collins (known as the mask nerd) is a great resource for in depth information on masks if you want to know more.

blaming her for going to a popular dentist

michael-laugh @[email protected] you stand accused of being a dental elitist, cruelly judging those who frequent popular dentists. How do you plead?

Obviously the problem isn't the popularity of the dentist, the problem is the dentist not having any precautions in place and the appointment being in the middle of a large wave of infections.

A lot of Iranians were profiting personally from the Shah's corruption, and they and their descendants are extremely upset and will do anything to demonize Iran today. This is much more common in the diaspora than in those who stayed in Iran, for obvious reasons.

The lecturer said the revolution happened because people disliked the Shah having more than others, but she did not elaborate this in any way.

The revolution happened because the Shah was an imperialist dog ruining the lives of the people and his agents disappeared and murdered anyone who opposed this.

Now my understanding is that the social democratic movement there was destroyed by the West in the 50s and the following twenty+ years under the Shah led to a sort of pseudorevolution that wasn't entirely progressive in nature. Is this correct or wrong?

As far as I know, your understanding is generally correct.

The CIA imposed the Shah on Iran, and when it was clear he was on the way out, the assisted the Ayatollahs. Both political systems were imposed on Iran by outside pressure - in the first case entirely, and in the second case only partly.

Edit: removed some text, had misread your comment.

Elie Hobeika, the Lebanese Forces leader accused of ordering the civilians to be killed, was later assassinated by an Israeli car bomb before he could testify as to who was responsible for what.

like 2/3rds of american forces were conscripted for vietnam

1/3, but I doubt they'll do that again because even with a minority being draftees there was a lot of rebellion.
