I love Shannon Torrens. She has such an easygoing style, and seems like a genuinely nice person.

I don't mind the aesthetic posts when the sub is new and small, but eventually I would like to read more about people living with less junk.

[email protected] Is the latest one I've found. I can find it if I go to my instance in the web, but not within the app.

Ouch, that's sad.

Thanks for responding. That is how I was searching, but there was a problem with the indexing across instances.

Its tough. I take massive amounts of meds.

If my mother wasn't 93 and acting like a toddler, I'd have left her there alone.

I'm shocked by the content I've seen over there. I know quite a few reddit users IRL and none of them support what spez is doing. I think you are right about AI being involved in some if the posts.

She has a stomach like cast iron, and wanted greasy fried food.

The weird part is, she's from Italy and is a big food snob, but when she comes to the US she wants to eat gross food.

I joined Lemmy.click because the bigger instances were having timeouts when I tried to sign up. I see those issues have been resolved now, but I like the idea of keeping other instances populated.

Gabapentin. Miracle drug.

I seem to be having trouble responding to some comments.

To answer a few points, my mother is in her 90s. She is not suffering from dementia, but she doesn't deal well with not getting her way. She throws tantrums in public. So it is easier just to go along with her wishes. One of my sisters had the police called on her for elder abuse once because my mother was throwing such a fit about how mean her daughter was to random strangers. Edit: if you've seen the episode of Malcolm in the Middle where Lois's evil mother comes to visit, and they call the police on her when she refuses to leave, and she plays the pity card to the cops and almost gets Hal arrested? That's my mother.

This trip was the first time I had seen her in 2 years. I took her to the casino with the agreement that I would wait outside, but of course she pretended to be looking for me in the casino, security called me thinking she was lost, and when I went in she insisted we go eat there rather than heading back to the vacation rental. I couldn't exactly leave my elderly mother there and go back to the vacation rental without her.

I got home a week ago and don't plan on calling her for a while. I am still pissed off.

She's a narcissistic bitch, and I try to limit my exposure to her as much as possible.

Thanks for working on this.

FWIW, I'm on lemmy.click. When I search for this community on my instance using https://lemmy.world/c/childfree or [email protected], I don't see the community in the search results.

I am on some really tiny subs that I would like to see here. R/biathlon is a big void in my life right now.

I also like to see some of the bigger Subs like 2x chromosomes, troll X chromosomes, and witches versus the patriarchy.

I'm wondering about those of you who commute to work now and then. For some reason I have a hard time minimizing what I carry with me. I don't have a car, so when I leave the house I need to have everything I might need on my back. It leads to me carrying all kinds of crazy things, like a multi-tool and a flashlight. Do any of you have a minimalist setup for your bike or bus commute?
