Gotta check for Pampas Grass, that's the hallmark.

I guess when you have double-height rooms, you have to use that space for something.

z-wave may be easier than expected, as I think the devices stay linked to the hardware dongle used. (This is just from memory, mind!). But if you need to change the dongle, perhaps less fun.

imo, it will be a bit of pain to get everything inside HA, but once it's done, you'll be inside a platform that is pretty open, and commonly used, with lots of other people (hopefully) posting up solutions to problems before you encounter them!
And because it's software that will run on pretty much anything, you have the reassurance that even if something crazy happened, you could just reinstall an old version.

If it were me, I'd clear an entire weekend day, power off the old kit, and work away at getting HA controlling everything.

I was impressed by this! As the resident person who carefully takes creepy-crawlies outside, this is great to see.

imo, tiktok is a nesscary evil to reach a demographic that may not otherwise use their other media.

From the looks of the comments, they also seem to avoid the facebook and HYS crazies.

RSPB have leaned into it, and run a very silly channel with Bird Of The Week.

Cavill would insist on being book-accurate.

Because if they remaster it, they can also remaster the price.
Which is probably why they've pulled all the old versions.

I like to think of it like a passive action that helps handle the smaller amounts of moisture (humans breathing, cooking, laundry), but also an action that helps reduce the problems of acute issues that occur. That way, when something does happen, there is at least a dampening effect while the leak is fixed.
Leaks and rising damp still need to be addressed, obviously.

Examples are things like vermiculite render on the outside, Steico/Wool batts as normal insulation.

The downside is, it's expensive. The insulation is only as good as fibreglass/rockwool, and costs about 3x as much.

There is another thing that I sometimes talk about on here, breathability.
You either need to prevent any moisture moving in any direction, or allow vapor to move with breathable materials.
Ones that allow water vapor to move, but not liquid water.

Older buildings, where the original materials were breathable, should ideally continue to use breathable materials. This prevents issues with water wicking through one old surface, then getting trapped behind another. It also removes the risk of damaged or badly designed vapor barriers allowing things through, as the materials themselves help get the moisture out as a passive action.

They're also changing the way you get money after someone buys something.

eBay balance, apparently. So by default, when a transaction happens, the money stays in eBay, and you have to manually transfer it out, instead of scheduled timed payouts.

I can imagine that would have gone down well with Boris' biggest fan base.

Followed swiftly by everyone else burying their faces in their palms, on both sides of the channel.

And probably everyone on the ground contracting covid during the raid for bonus "yes minister" points.

Someone looted Lush.

"Don't worry darling, I got something for you"

And it is delicious.

After the nearest outlet shut its doors, and facing a walk of almost 800m (!) to the next closest, I decided to try Aldi's not-greggs-but-basically-is.

And honestly...They're not half bad.
We tried the rolls, chicken, and steak bakes. They're about 1/4 of the price. And live in the freezer. Ideal.

This post was not supported or sponsored by Aldi. No free snacks for this albatross.

We played through it this weekend. tl;dr: It's funny, about 3-4 hours (or maybe more), and worth the money.

It is incredibly silly, and fantastic for it.
imho, if perfectly captures stupid british humour.

Our favourite moments involved vegan sausage rolls, mysterious sausage holes, and a very friendly mole.

You will also probably be quoting the marrow song for a while.

(And I will just clarify since I'm an admin: I paid for the game, and CoalSupper didn't put me up to this positive mention)

Has anybody on here had an experiment with the supermarket tags?

My understanding is that you get a bunch of the tags, somehow get a base-station/transceiver working with them, and push data as images.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's had a go. I quite fancy having some little displays around the house with useful info for the room.
