Also the moderation tools could've been Java and connect to the Lemmy database/API (maybe with some pull requests to add to Lemmy's API), which to me sounds a lot better than saying fuck it and rewriting everything, it could've lived in its own repo anyways

When it comes to moderation tooling I'm honestly a little confused that there isn't more work or noise around a developing a sideloaded tool.

Yeah we just need volunteers to dedicate their time to it. But it's a lot easier to complain than it is to contribute.

plugins on Android! a while ago I made a dumb plugin for touchscreen controls for the camera, I guess it should work now? but idk what the touch screen controls are like in OpenRCT2 currently, I've actually never tried it lol

yea I'm not sure what the benefit is for the app compared to the website, I tried both and they seem identical except the app is using an older and less secure version of Chromium and in a separate process so it uses more RAM, and it doesn't benefit from my browser extensions

It only counts the single most recent comment, so a handful of recent comments or just 1 single recent comment makes no difference.

It's the combination of most recent comment with the number of upvotes. If this post's most recent comment is an hour old but the post has 300 upvotes, that's better than a post with a 10 minute old comment and only 10 upvotes for the post.

I'm not aware of any recent changes to it but idk for sure.

This is a playlist containing new WRs for each of the 4 episodes for Ultimate Doom. Also an older video for Final Doom: Plutonia, but the Ultimate Doom ones are the new ones so I'll keep this post about those.

UV-Max: Ultra-violence difficulty, while collecting ALL secrets (with the exception of those that are unreachable due to bugs), and killing ALL monsters (lost souls don't count).

Episode 1 in 17:49, 51 second improvement over the previous record.

Episode 2 in 23:30, 32 seconds faster than the previous record.

Episode 3 in 16:48, 33 seconds faster than the previous record.

Episode 4 in 17:50, 4 minutes and 4 seconds faster than the previous record.

Read the video descriptions for more info! Zero Master always makes really good descriptions for his videos, with breakdowns of each level.

Surreal Engine is an ongoing project to reimplement UE1, mainly focused on Unreal Tournament v436 and Unreal Gold v226 at the moment.

This one has been discussed in the other linux_gaming community before, more than two years ago. Since then there were numerous improvements:

It can now run UT99 maps and Unreal Gold botmatch maps (whereas it was limited to only UT before), and boot up onto the intro flyby of Deus Ex.

Colission handling is much better (but not perfect yet).

Can utilize SDL2 on Linux for windowing and native Wayland support (previously it'd use pure X11, and actually still does if you don't have SDL2 installed).

The menus mostly work now.

Initial works for the AI (they will move around sometimes, and retaliate if attacked).

Game detection system based on the SHA1 sum of the game executable. This allows us to detect many versions of UT and U1/UGold, as well as Deus Ex, Klingon Honor Guard, NERF Arena Blast, and more!

A launcher has been added to select the game you want to play on startup. And lots of other improvements!

There is still a lot of work to do to implement everything though, and contributions are always welcome!
