you can move your account though, there are buttons to export and import on your settings page

it won't bring your post/comment history with you, but it will carry over your subscriptions and saved/bookmarked posts/comments

Which features do you want most?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 7 months ago

there is an in-progress proof of concept here https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/4695

if you have a Github account you can "subscribe" to that to get email updates about it

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

maybe some instances will want "New Comments" to be the default, like old forums

the inclination of people to never adjust default settings

yea lol so many people just will not change any settings on anything

What changes does the app need? I think most of the things in v0.19.4 were backend?

More people need to pay Panzer Dragoon Saga, just emulate it

for reference, this is what it looks like on Mastodon, the post to [email protected] it gets the hashtag for announcements

https://mastodon.social/@[email protected]/112576601493225058

it's not really part of the message text, it's separate

In order to improve interoperability with Mastodon and other microblogging platforms, Lemmy now automatically includes a hashtag with new posts. The hashtag is based on the community name, so posts to /c/lemmy will automatically have the hashtag #lemmy. This makes Lemmy posts much easier to discover.

this should be interesting

image proxying also sounds good

In Doronko Wanko you're a little tiny adorable pomeranian who will be forgiven for all their sins because you are, again, a tiny adorable pomeranian. You choose to use this power for violence, challenged to cause as much property damage to your owner's house as quickly as you can. You can find Doronko Wanko on Steam.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2512840/DORONKO_WANKO/

In Boomeroad you toss a boomerang and the slide along the rails it creates to explore an ancient ruin floating in the sky—with the goal of finding every artifact you can while out there. It's a cool proof of concept for a movement system that'd do well in an action or collectathon puzzle kind of game. You can find Boomeroad on Steam.

The last of the three is Nottolot, which has you as a little robot named Rolly who has to hack other bots in order to solve puzzles and escape from the robot production factory. While still fun it's probably the weakest of the three, as it's a bit slow, but it has some cute simple puzzles to solve. You can find Nottolot on Steam.

Oh MMy — a new ScummVM release!

Please welcome the first ScummVM release of the year: ScummVM 2.8.1.

ScummVM 2.8.1 is a maintenance release mainly focused on fixing bugs that were uncovered since our last stable release.

This update includes upgrades for the following engines: AGI, AGS, GRIM, SWORD2, MM (which is now enabled — yes, we really skipped it in 2.8.0 by accident), mTropolis, NANCY, SCUMM, TWINE, Ultima, and V-Cruise.

The Android, Atari and macOS ports received multiple bug fixes, mostly for improving overall stability and preventing some crashes we’ve seen under certain circumstances.

The detailed list of improvements is available here.

As always, you can find the latest release on our Downloads page.

Go grab it while it's hot — enjoy!

Absolutely wild song, close your eyes and really listen to this one. I think Cylob is pretty underrated.

This has got to be one of the first games that required Win95 and didn't run on DOS or Win3.1, probably the first 3D one cause I think the other bundled games were all 2D

It was included with CD-ROM editions of Win95, but idk if the floppy version came out first? Wikipedia suggests this game came out in the same month as Win95 with no exact date, so maybe they really did release the same day.

Build Engine Randomizer currently supports: Duke Nukem 3D, Ion Fury, Shadow Warrior (1997), Blood, and PowerSlave/Exhumed (and maybe more in the future!)

Trailer

Build Engine Randomizer Trailer

Download build-engine-randomizer.exe from the Assets section below. Put eduke32.exe/nblood.exe/etc into the game's folder. Run the Randomizer it, point it to the game's GRP file, choose your settings, and click Randomize! Make sure you have a backup of your game files first just in case. On Windows the Randomizer will generate a bat file for you to play, and then you can just play the game as normal, choose which episode and which difficulty, and it will automatically use the new map files. You do NOT select "USER MAP" in the game menus. If you don't get a bat file, then see the wiki for how to play.

For info on where to get the games and how to run them, check out our wiki here.

"Damn, I'm lookin' good!"

GUI

Randomizes enemies and items. For games that use CON files (Duke Nukem 3D and Ion Fury so far) it also randomizes values like maximum health and ammo values, and enemy strengths. Also supports randomizing the map order. Be warned that putting every setting to maximum will make the game nearly impossible. I suggest you start with the default settings. Also check out the Randomizer.html file that gets created in the output directory to see what's changed.
