Trump ran as a Democrat in the early years. People love to forget that little nugget

I have them all downloaded. 25 years of old hard drives and nerdy piracy have me well stocked for the apocalypse

Yes, and if you teach this to your friends and children, the big companies will eventually adapt to what the market is offering vs trying to dictate the market

I'd buy in to that. You could even do it the way NASCAR does it: here are the specs. You can buy it from us to guarantee you are in compliance, or if you're good enough to replicate this setup you can use your own, but we'll tear down your setup to inspect after every contest. The only changes allowed are peripherals

I paid full price for both Factorio and Skyrim because they are full games that I get to own. No micro transactions, and modding is almost encouraged through Steam. I will never buy another microtransaction game. I will never buy another "subscription based" platform like Xbox. I'm so fucking over not owning the thing I bought

City of Chicago is 22,000 police officers short of full enforcement. That means the good ones have left and they can't fire the bad ones, and they pay ridiculous salaries because nobody wants to be a cop. That song ain't called "fuck the firemen"

Toyota is one of the largest auto makers in the history of the world. They're practically their own government, and have more than enough money bankroll a burgeoning technology tree. To say they fucked up by testing a brand new technology and developing it in-house, seemingly on their own until recently (BMW and Mercedes have both joined Toyota in their development process within the last 5 years) is bonkers.

Any new technology or idea generally has a long road to maturity. You wouldn't say the quest for quantum computing or the unified field theory are complete wastes of time and money when we're discovering things along the way. Hydrogen may not work out for your consumer vehicle, but it absolutely works better than electric for those trans-oceanic container ships and shooting rockets to the moon.

So what’s the new solution in place of DRM to make sure that the things you make aren’t ripped off by China or any other rich competitor?

This you?

How does forcing a company like Apple or John Deere to allow their customers to repair their own products lead you to think China isn't already ripping off every bit of tech they come across?
