Great overview. Added to my RSS feed.
It would definetely be a tight balance, but it's possible.
Talking about and actively promoting it are 2 different things. Also not everything sold there is illegal.
It really depends on the instance and their own rules. Some might allow it, while others wouldn't. It would definetely need to be aggressively moderated to avoid promoting any illegal sales, etc.
Only admins of the various instances can really clarify this.
It defaults to only search lemmy.world
...
PeerTube is the fediverse video software, but it's far less popular than any commercial alternatives.

Their titles are shit, but the context is that it wouldn't been needed before.
According to the docs, purge is admin action that deletes everything associated not just the comment/post itself.
Just block the communities that focus on Reddit. It doesn't really spill out into other communities.
That's the purpose of public forum. There is a difference between Fediverse selling your data and someone scraping comments you made publicially. They also offer Send Secure Message
if the user has added their Matrix handle. Which offers E2E by default for private messages.
I also believe the delete issue was resolved, but not sure if it was merged already.
I'm using Fluent Reader as my client.
