I find glasses online are about half the price of a local place. $500+ locally, about $250 online for the same thing. Progressives drive most of the cost.

If you can get am exam locally for a good price, you're good to go. Just make sure they include the PD - Pupillary Distance, they sometimes don't, though it's part of your prescription and they're required to supply it.

Wow, great info, lots of detail. I'd enjoy watching you work!

Weren't these types of things already used for maps at this point?

I'm pretty sure I've seen them displayed with early automobiles, people used them to navigate across the US before WWII.

Pixel makes it easy. They aren't benefitting from you using it if you run a de-googled OS.

If you don't want to use a Pixel, pick your ROM, then choose from their list of supported phones.

And if you think we haven't considered hardware-based back doors, you may wanna revisit 1998 when we were all talking about this as a concern - that's when I first read about Android, before it was called Android.

Edit: Prior to the Pixel, I was running Lineage or DivestOS on an Essential Ph1 from 2018. I still have one that runs well on DivestOS. Not saying to get one, just an example of what's out there.

Also lookup the phones listed as compatible with a ROM on phonearena.com and gsmarena.com

Try doing it from the gallery, pick your image, then 3-dot menu, Set As, choose Wallpaper, it gives you a cropping box. Works perfectly for me, so far.

Edit: On some phones the cropping box isn't obvious - you grab the image and drag it around within the preview space.

Thanks for the correction, guess I forgot a zero! Lol

(Not sure how I let that slip, should've been obvious, 2400w is space heater territory on a 20amp circuit).

Alcohol has never affected my plastic lenses.

There are some plastics it affects, I've just never seen it affect glasses. Notably, the eyeglass cleaner kits at eyeglass shops are alcohol based.

Hahaha, I love seeing AirBnB getting owned like this. Too bad it was the homeowner who got screwed, and not AirBnB.

A typical house may have a 200amp service. That would equate to about ~~2400~~ 24000 watts at typical 120v (the voltage consumer computers use).

What's the math on wattage-to-bitcoin (assuming ideal and average system capabilities)?

I don't know enough to know where to start.

Edit: I dropped a zero on the watts

I just tried with a Pixel, and it gives me a cropping frame to select which part of a photo to use as wallpaper. Works fine.

I don't know the Pixel's screen resolution, but that's the key. You can only use so much of a photo as wallpaper, it needs to match the resolution.

What app are you using to set the wallpaper?

Definitely.

I've ridden in some nasty conditions, and my chain didn't have that "filth" they showed. That's a result of using a lube that attracts and holds goo, and using too much of it. (It's been a while, but modern lubes which include things like waxes prevent this very problem).

I really can't see a way to beat the chain drives we have. For the same weight and space as this belt drive, you can have 20+ gear ratios with chain, and have it work near flawlessly 99% of the time.

I can already see a problem with this belt drive - that tooth arrangement with the bar in the middle will be problematic. Let just a teeny, tiny pebble (say 1/16" or 1-2mm) stick to that belt because it has a little water/mud/street grime built up and it'll jump. Or that goo getting onto that shifting mechanism... It'll grind and bind terribly. Funny how they compare their pristine mechanism to a "filthy" chain. This stuff operates in "filthy" environment - and this solution has far finer tolerances than chain drive.

Finer tolerances for better performance just mean a tighter perfomance window.

Edit: still ingenious engineering and very cool to watch
