Front/right arm/all of one.

I mean we had the Dutch East Indies Corp doing it's thing 300 years ago. It's not really new, and it's frustrating people don't see it.

Right there with you.

Sadly, too many people don't put in the mental effort to verify what they're told.

I suspect we're all susceptible to this to greater/lesser degrees, and subject-dependent. I just can't figure out my own blind spot around this.

I dunno, I see a LOT of what he said existing today, especially the level of surveillance and control.

I highly recommend "Taking Control of Your Personal Data" by prof. Jennifer Golbeck, published by The Teaching Company, ISBN:978-1629978390, likely available at your local library as a DVD or streaming.

I think it's the third episode where she clarifies how extensive online surveillance is - I was surprised, it was even greater than even my paranoic mind thought.

Correct. You lie on a bed. 😁

Not sure I want to entrust my phone with this.

Maybe a purpose-configured, dedicated device. I've use this kind of "phone" as part of a Holter monitor. The "phone" had a custom UI that you couldn't bypass (at least I couldn't figure it out), and only connected to the monitor via BT and it's own cell connection to transmit data on a schedule.

Pretty ingenious use.

Good luck is my best answer.

You'd have to find out exactly how each subsystem works, and reproduce that to the extent it's provided by the factory head unit.

Take the TPS - how much of that system is integrated into the factory unit, or does it just display data retrieved from the TPS system? If it just retrieves that data, how does that interface function? Does it run over CANBUS, or does it use a point-to-point connection with custom signaling?

You'll have to figure this out for everything controlled by the head unit.

I really doubt this is a realistically achievable goal.

Pop music, by definition, is bland (or mundane anyway, in the sense of routine).

The broader the reach, the simpler it has to be.

Compare any pop artist to Miles Davis. Anyone can grok pop stuff, even if they don't care for it. Damn few people get Miles - I barely do and I have music theory training.

Oh god, "The Boss" is downright fucking awful, I thought so in 1985, still do today.

He's like the worst of the juvenile blue-collar, chip-on-his-shoulder, "I'm deep".

And I grew up in blue-collar country, most aren't like that.

click on ~~rom version~~ Build Number in system settings 6 times fast

I've always seen it labeled as Build Number (though it is the ROM version).

Everything I've read lately leans toward using Magisk for rooting (still).

It requires extracting the boot image from the ROM zip (on your pc), copying it to the phone, modifying it with Magisk, copying it back to your pc, then flashing it using ADB.

Does this process not work with your phone (it's possible it doesn't)?

Just reduce accuracy while in a vehicle?
