We can't even imagine the tech required for an alien species to reach us.

All science today says FTL is practically impossible, we're that far away from what these "aliens" supposedly can do.

How the hell would we ever see them?

Nah, anything like this is either some natural phenomenon or black development operations.

Just read about the tech in a Minute man missile, from 1962. This is what black operations were doing 60 years ago.

If your batteries are dying that fast, you're doing something wrong.

You're saying that data centers are replacing batteries constantly...just imagine the labor costs on that (and the down time), not even considering the material cost.

I work in enterprise, and have never heard such a thing. Even my friends in SMB routinely replace UPS's at the 5-year mark, the same time they replace servers. They rarely replace batteries, at all, it's so rare that it's notable.

Do you mean will the primary coil draw current if plugged in?

Yes.

Not to be critical, but it's a weird question. It's not a bad question, I just can't figure out what you're attempting to do by removing the motor? And, why you'd keep it energized if you remove the motor?

The research suggests that PKMzeta [a protein that's part of memory creation] works alongside another molecule, called KIBRA (kidney and brain expressed adaptor protein), which attaches to synapses activated during learning, effectively “tagging” them. KIBRA couples with PKMzeta, which then keeps the tagged synapses strengthened.

Intriguiging. I wonder how this is related to short-term/working memory?

It also appears KIBRA dysfunction is closely related to Alzheimers.

Thanks for the clarification. It's a very important distinction.

"most likely" it's an opinion, so evidence not required.

If they said "it is run by ccp" then you may have a point.

Don't play sophist games.

Yes.

Even the generics work.

Just read the labels, see what they use and concentrations, so you can change brands if one makes your teeth hurt (higher peroxide concentrations can do this for people who are sensitive).

I never knew these were called "split-flap displays"..

Thanks for that!

Lol, nice.

But I ALWAYS try to replace pay walled links with archive links, even for posts that aren't mine.

Be nice if Lemmy had a bot for this, with a list of known pay walled sites.
