Yea, the difference between my laptop today and an equivalent one 5 years ago is dramatic (both X series Lenovo's) . The construction alone is completely different. The new one is slimmer, lighter, while dissipating more heat, and they're the same brand and line. And let's not talk about the difference from my 2008 Lenovo X.

This thing is no more my last laptop as my previous Lenovo X.

Yea, file it. He won't show for divorce proceedings, his friends are risking your financial security with that car...screw him.

Well, since a phone was handed to you, I'd expect you could do all sorts of shit, especially if you were prepared to have access to an unlocked phone.

🤦🏼‍♂️

Exactly.

Two X in the same office - why are the X in this office this way?

This is called begging the question.

Someone care to explain, because I just don't get it?

Are you on LSD?

240v for an attic fan? Wtf?

Yea, fire this "handyman". 240 in the US is for high load devices, like AC, electric stove (electric heat is a direct short), electric water heater.

A fan draws a very small amount of current - less than 5 amps at 120v.

I have a small portable blower (this uses a compressor wheel, so draws more current than a fan), and it's rated for 5 amps.

I'm surprised you haven't been downvoted to oblivion.

CO2 removal/credit trading was a scam from the start - so obviously that it was discussed in print at the time.

And this is exactly why I don't do auto updates (and people around here berate me for it, saying my systems are unsafe).

Hell, Windows LTSC only gets updates twice a year (which is what I run).

I applaud your IT leadership/CIO for being willing to do this.

Most companies are far too passive and think "aIt won't happen to us".

I've seen companies scammed of $1mil in a single transaction because they sent credentials in email, to a scammer.

Had they used a credential management system this wouldn't have happened.

Every layer of security helps.

Yea, I run into the same problem.

Pixel 5 has become my current choice, but dammit they're hard to find.

Those prices for Moto are insane. I'm sure part of the problem is few phones meet your requirements (definitely my issue too). So there'll be fewer available used.
