Hmm... I'm terrible at saying "goodbyes". So I'll just say this:

Thank you.

Not just for the porn and stuff, there's plenty of sites out there for it. And I'm planning on replicating the communities on pawb anyway. But the community. The last year or so has been pretty turbulent for me, and Yiffit is one of the things that made me make the push to being more outgoing about the things I'm into. To get involved in stuff (even though I don't do it as much as I want - yay anxiety). I think that's true of a number of other people here as well.

However brief this site was up for, take pride in that it provided a safe welcoming space for all who were here.

I've checked there, but it only contains documents I've supposedly requested.

Damn, that's a shame, although not unexpected at this point. I'll post some thoughts about it later over there, but I think I'd like to think forward.

Assuming it's okay with @[email protected] , I'll probably recreate communities from Yiffit over here and post some of the backlog.

Edit: Is email on pawb's side working? Haven't got an account creation email yet.

I listened to it a while ago and thought nothing of it. But I keep going back to it and thinking that it's sooo good.

Ru needs to do more audio stuff.

Anyone know what else Trendane has done?

I'm honestly still trying to figure out how I want to split my "IRL life", my "SFW furry life" and my "kinky furry life"... I'm pretty sure someone could probably, with enough effort, find out my personal details. But I'm not sure whether anyone would be bothered enough to do that. I'm also not sure how "career and social status ending" it would be if it came out...

The joys of living a sheltered life, having social anxiety and being repeatedly told you are unable to learn social etiquette...

I still check this place regularly, but don't really post much stuff because I'm on meds that kinda make it hard to get frisky. I also still post somewhat regularly using my sfw account.

Honestly it's a shame that Lemmy didn't take off as well as we hoped it would, but at least everything is in place for the next time Reddit shoots itself in the foot. Special shout-out to the people regularly posting content to communities even though they don't get many responses.

Hey, so I know I don't post much nowadays, but I still lurk around. I can keep an eye on things and make sure that nothing bad gets posted or anything, if that works.

Hey. I know I've not been posting much, but I still lurk around here.

Honestly, the past few weeks for me have been filled with anxiety over "purges" of adult content and similar, so it's been nice to find a place such as this which is friendly towards it. I know that there has been a few pretty bad incidents here in the past, and I can see not wanting to continue the site because of them, but I hope you do. And if you do shut down the site, thank you for running it while you could.

With regards to the lemmy.ml issue, I've been getting sentiments across the lemmyverse (mostly from .world) that they aren't worth interacting with. Mostly because they are very blockhappy towards anything that disagrees with their political views. Honestly, personally I'm perfectly happy with using Yiffit to only browse Yiffit communities. Like I said, it's nice and cozy here, and we can always make accounts on more general purpose instances if we really need to.

Thanks for the update.

Is there are issue with Lemmynsfw? They've not been federating for a while now. I assumed it was because of the version difference, but there still seems to be issues.

As the guy that submitted "giffit", could that be a nickname or a surname instead?

"Amne" is such a cute and clever name and I feel bad about my shitpost name winning. ;_;

Lemmy.ml blocks Yiffit, I'm afraid. I'd consider looking for similar communities on lemmy.world instead.

There's also pawb.social, the less spicy instance. But since OP seems to have gotten approved, this instance is probably accepting people.

Just to be clear, I don't want us to be super picky about tags - IMO as long as it's understandable, anything is okay. However, Pokémon yiff has a pinned thread talking about this, and I've been PMed asking how to tag something. Basically, even if we don't want to enforce it, it might be useful to have some standard as a guideline.

Many communities reference the tagging rules of the main !yiff community, which includes tags for male and female. However, it does not specify rules for characters that fall outside that spectrum, or whose gender is unknown (due to being obscured, for example). This has resulted in tagging being a bit ad-hoc (e.g. [H], [I], [G], for gynomorphs), and might feel a bit exclusionary for a site that claims to be "queer".

Just as something to propose, how about we update the tagging rules to be something like this (to be similar to e621's gender tags):

  • [M] For male characters.
  • [F] For female characters.
  • [G] For gynomorph (feminine character with a dick but no pussy).
  • [A] For andromorph (masculine character with a pussy but no dick).
  • [H] For herm (character with both a pussy and dick).
  • [U] For Unknown/unclear.

This would also mean retiring pairing codes ("G" for "gay", "S" for straight and so on) in favour of "M/M" and "M/F".

I've not seen this happen yet, but figured I'd draw attention to it just in case, because it can be a little counter intuitive. Apologies if this isn't the right place or this is already in the rules somewhere.

When you post to a community on Yiffit, the post (and any attachements like images) lives on your homeserver, not Yiffit.

If your homeserver allows you to view NSFW but does not allow you to post it, you may be breaking that rule by posting NSFW to a remote instance.

I think (from a quick reading of their rules), pawb.social and lemmy.world allow posting of NSFW, but be careful out there if you're on another instance!
