Genuinely not true. Our electoral system more or less requires two candidates de facto to function - it is not a failure of the commons, it's a failure of the systems of government. We need ranked choice voting, at which point we can actually begin to meaningfully remove ourselves from this insanity and have more than two de facto political parties.
Voting third party is the same as not voting in the United States under our current system.

From someone else with an avid fascination with all things nuclear science; the only thing I can think of is "pregaming" infrastructure for when the technology gets to where it needs to be. The core concepts of fusion, how to harvest its energy, how to initiate it, and the risks involved are all understood at a foundational level, but the recent net gain achievements is likened to the Wright Brothers' first flight when the goal is to get to the moon. We proved its possible to get off the ground, which is no small feat, but we are a ways off from our goal.

This accelerated my plans to join Lemmy immensely and, et voila. Sync is probably the best software app I have on my phone, simply from a design perspective.
You should move it up on the priority list, its one of my favorite games of all time, and I was super put off due to my perception of it being "childish" due to the robot dinosaurs.
