I don't really see any connection between the two. It could be a good idea or a bad idea to offer energy-saving advice via Alexa devices -- I mean, personally I'm skeptical that it's actually helpful, but whatever -- but those merits or drawbacks have nothing to do with the wages of a random employee at Amazon.
United Kingdom
General community for news/discussion in the UK.
Less serious posts should go in [email protected] or [email protected]
More serious politics should go in [email protected].
Try not to spam the same link to multiple feddit.uk communities.
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric news, and should be either a link to a reputable source, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread.
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
Rage bait bullshit. Absolutely worthless article designed to get your underwear in a twist.
I respectfully disagree. Rather than changing politics after decades of austerity, the government provides advice for energy savings through a device by Amazon, a company that spies on people and pays practically no taxes.
If this is what it takes for you to realise the government doesn't care about you then fair enough I guess, but they haven't done anything egregious here
That's not the point. I think that it is generally a bad idea if any government collaborates with such companies. So I agree that it's a detail and there are issues of higher importance, but a government shouldn't act this way.
And you don't think Amazon deserve the rage ?
There's plenty of reasons to get angry at amazon, this isn't one of them
It's hypocrisy, it is a sufficient reason, it's called holding up people and companies up to standards.
I can think of many better reasons to "slam" this bunch of cunts.
