I don't understand why 3D printing is useful on the Moon. Gravity is so low there astronauts can just lift entire walls by hand.

MODERATORS
Because 3d printing allows us to automate building. Which means it can be done before astronauts even arrive.
And, we might be able to source the raw materials on the moon, so only the machines need to be sent up.
Not sure that the planet needs the increased population that this would support, though.
