Very good. Poland was under a right-wing authoritarian government that happily infringed on the independence of the judiciary, abused control over state media, and otherwise misbehaved. The new government is also much less likely to provide cover for Hungary in the EU, though now Slovakia might take over that position.

Something no one is mentioning is how good this is for the EU. This gives the EU the opportunity to make some much needed reforms. It allows them to put into place controls for governments who fall out of line with democracy. And this is the second recent election in the EU where the ultra right have lost when they were expected to win (Spain being the other). Even with the right winger parties elected recently (Sweden and I think Germany but I'm not clear on their current situation), it is likely reforms can still be made. Hopefully they do it and do it quickly.

Germany, we're still in free fall. Regional elections (Bavaria and Hesse) last week both saw the right and far-right gain around 10%.

Skip one to the right to see gains. Watch AfD (fascists, blue), CxU (conservatives, black, represented in blue EU-wide), FW (conservatives, orange).
Wow, this is really surprising. Tbh I expected the right-wing gov to hold on a lot longer. Figured they were either too apathetic or in favour of the gov to get rid of them.
this is huge! i was 100% resigned to their election going the same way as hungary and turkey's
