Hey. I was kicked out of my parents house. Long story but you can ask me for details in a reply or message me. Anyways I was wondering what strategies I should use in order to survive this saga. My left arm has been amputated and I've managed to get a job interview at mcdonalds only for them to come around the issue and ask if I'm still capable of performing the work. Legal or not they didn't hire me. I'm tempted to beg for money, dumpster dive or enter s3x work at this point. I'm just getting desperate and hungry. All advice appreciated thanks. Located in Canada

Have you tried calling 211? They have resources that can help you get into a shelter in the short-term, and may be able to offer long term solutions. https://211.ca/index.html

No longer have a working phone plan but before they kicked me out I tried calling a few shelters. I guess they're all full because it's the winter so everyone wants in.

Looks like the website I linked has resources

I am not in Canada so I can't help you sadly. But I have two questions:

  • Could you patch things up with your parents or is the situation terminal? I don't know your particular circumstances and I don't want to meddle, just wondering if it could be a way forward for you, and possibly for them too.
  • Are you a minor?

They've blocked my contact and it was due to my sexual orientation so it's pretty terminal at the moment. I'm an adult, 19

Bummer. Well all I can say is, don't burn bridges with them. You never know, sometimes people turn around who you never thought would change their mind.

As for your immediate problem - finding shelter - I don't know how it works in Canada, but perhaps hit the local police station and ask for advice. In other countries, they keep emergency numbers and they can call around for you sometimes. Possibly check yourself in at the hospital: at least you'll be warm while you wait.

And also use that https://211.ca/ website. It look pretty helpful. They have web chats if you can't call or send emails.
