I got excited thinking it was Malorie Blackman instead of someone who was on the adaptation team

The great thing for me is, as is often the case with Doctor Who, I have no idea who these people are.

Malorie Blackman is a well regarded writer of young adult fiction who often deals with themes of race and drama. Noughts and crosses was a series of books she wrote of a world where the colours of races were swapped, so the majority of society were black people and the cultural norms were based on black skin instead of white skin. One of the best examples of this is the white protagonist complaining about plasters (band-aids) always sticking out against the colour of her skin because of how dark they are.

I really enjoyed reading her books growing up.
