Editorialised headline, because the actual title makes no mention of the fare increase they stuck in down the bottom

From 1 January 2025, the cost of a daily fare anywhere across the Victorian network will be capped at $11 or $5.50 for a daily concession – an increase of 40 cents and 20 cents respectively.

This increase is referring to the daily fare cap, right? If I understand correctly, it has made no mention of price changes for individual fares.

We don't really do individual fares anymore, at least across the Myki network. A daily ticket/the daily cap is just the price of 2x 2-hour fares. Although the daily cap is marketed kind of as it's own thing, it's more accurate to say that the price of a 2 hour fare is going up 20c FF/10c Conc.

Even more reason to ride a bike instead of public transport
